    Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

Heck, how many people even remember the Boxing Day 2004 tsunami, despite the fact that the death toll was almost a quarter million?

Shadowdark Western Reaches Stretch Goal: New Classes

A white-haired ape named “Yeeti” who throws lots of rocks is definitely showing up in my next game. Many thanks.

Is There Possibility of a PF1.5 or a 3.5 Revival? Whether Directly or Something With Similar 'Ethos'

My desire for D&D is for character progression avenues to be: 1) diegetic (tied into specific functionality within the fiction, and character knowable within the fiction) 2) randomized/roguelike 3) transformational. 2 and 3 are so character growth is a function of discovery, and not...

    D&D 5E (2024) What's Your 2026 WotC D&D Wishlist?

I'm really excited for Project Sigil, and hope to see some major expansion in its features.

D&D General What Should Magic Be Able To Do, From a Gameplay Design Standpoint?

Yea, looking through that, they're definitely keyword tags on spells. Pretty useful. Not sure at what level they impact and interact with class features.

D&D General What Should Magic Be Able To Do, From a Gameplay Design Standpoint?

I'm assuming these are keywords, and every spell is tagged with one or more of these?

    Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

The Snap would absolutely be a fascinating thing to explore; I do think the series and movies since then have overly glossed over the profound impact it would cause. But that's mass death. That is the sort of thing that would cause a profound disruption in life's rhythms, heck, it would...

    Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

Isn't it? I mean, what level of metaphysical disruption would be required to make you you give up your current life and routine and change everything? People overuse the idea of "this would change everything." If aliens landed on the lawn of a world leader, obviously it would be a huge news...

D&D 3.x Best spells from the Spell Compendium

Assay Spell Resistance is one I remember causing the DM a lot of pain in higher level games.

    How would YOU change Shadowdark?

An extra 1 or 2 HP a level? Advantage on HP rolls works out to be about a ~1.5 point boost to the result.

Must You Tell Your Players What Adventure You Are Running?

I virtually never run published adventures, so I'm kinda guessing. I'm just generally in favor of full transparency as to what's going on in the game.

    How would YOU change Shadowdark?

I liked proficiency bonus when 5e first came out, but I've evolved into hating it.

    How would YOU change Shadowdark?

I would imagine because the game experience I'm anticipating in an OSR game is different than the structure I (and others) are anticipating from a modern D&D game. There are plenty of things I encourage in OSR play that I don't think should be a part of 5e. They're different games.

Must You Tell Your Players What Adventure You Are Running?

This. I don't think you need some kind of formal announcement or anything, but going to any sort of effort to disguise what you're doing just seems counterproductive.

D&D General What Should Magic Be Able To Do, From a Gameplay Design Standpoint?

Shhh...thinking that way leans towards heresy, and even worse, 4e. :)

D&D General What Is D&D Generally Bad At That You Wish It Was Better At?

If you build a game (say, 3E) oriented around the party overcoming preplanned challenges, and the games has hundreds of specifically coded player-facing exceptions (i.e. spells, and some other class/race features) that allow challenges to be bypassed or obviated, this does seem like the natural...

    How would YOU change Shadowdark?

Some people really like the idea of rolling randomly and seeing what sort of character they get, some people really hate it. A standard array lowers the amount of randomness in character creation.

D&D General What Is D&D Generally Bad At That You Wish It Was Better At?

Our recollections differ, then. Even in the few cases where high skill checks could obviate challenges, those checks were generally augmented with copious amounts of magic.

D&D General Why Combat is a Fail State - Blog and Thoughts

That's fair, but I think it's important to note that a lot of participants aren't playing RPGs with the intent of generating drama and narrative as their primary focus. Many participants enjoy the engagement with the ruleset, specifically, and running games that are basically open-ended board...
