I will be much more likely to buy in if it is readily backwards compatible. ie if the power levels are commensurate and I can convert 3.5 material on the fly, then I'll probably buy it. if the difference is as big as 2e to 3e, probably not for a long, long time.

Yes, WotC is relevant to me. I always try to support Necromancer Games, Goodman Games, Green Ronin, and Paizo FIRST since they generally have smaller print runs and actually need the support a little more. Smaller print runs mean that their product is harder to find once it goes OOP. WotC books...
