    Druid's Venom Immunity

Wrong. Without being all dramatic about it like you, I'll simply provide RAW from SRD. 1) Under Oozes, its says "immunity to poison." Under the definition of Poison, it states, and I quote: Nonliving creatures (constructs and undead) and creatures without metabolisms (such as elementals)...

    Druid's Venom Immunity

Your DM is technically correct. I hate to burst your bubble, but I believe your DM friend is correct. Here's why.. 1) Poison are considered extraordinary abilities. Here is what the SRD says: Although supernatural and spell-like poisons are possible, poisonous effects are almost always...

    Adjudicating the Animal Companion

Then the obvious answer is to have the animal leave the Ranger/Druid's companionship. I don't buy the argument, "If it doesn't break the game, then allow it." Why? Because it's virtually impossible to "break" a game where the DM can adjust to just about anything. My attitude is that unless...

    Adjudicating the Animal Companion

I'm not sure I follow. The bonus HD an animal gets from being an AC do not affect its size. The rules explicitly state this. So I'm not sure how you are acquiring a medium eagle?

Does a Bag of Tricks animal require HA?

IIRC, FoWP says : The creature obeys and serves its owner. The use of "creature" and the lack of any reference to commands limited those that normally require a HA check makes this categorically different, imo.

Question for groups who rotate DM's

Effing high-larious. EDIT: In retrospect, you should have gone with it. It would have made for everlasting conversation material as you forced this guy to make good on his setting. I like that one.

Question for groups who rotate DM's

I'd be interested in hearing feedback from those of you who play in a group in which at least two of the players regularly rotate as the DM within the same campaign. Greenfield, I recall your group does this. 1. Do you all play by the same rules? 2. If yes, how do you decide what gets Rule...

Does a Bag of Tricks animal require HA?

Green, I always appreciated your weighing in given your knowledge and experience with 3.5. Let me offer some counter arguments: The item description specifically references the Handle Animal skill: "It can follow any of the commands described in the Handle Animal skill (page 74 of the...

Does a Bag of Tricks animal require HA?

I'm curious if anyone has a source which tells whether the person who pulls an animal from a Bag of Tricks needs to roll an HA check to command the animal or whether the animal is magically compelled to obey? Again, while RAI are welcomed, I'm really hoping to find any official FAQ on the...

    TWF with Speed weapons

yup. I have to agree with this. It is illogical to think a Speed weapon in each hand would invoke any stacking consideration. The weapon isn't casting a "Speed" spell on the wielder so I see no reason to disallow an extra attack with each weapon.

    A silly question about Evasion

Viewing the entirety of the page on 293, I have to disagree with you on that one. In the former, one can interpret it saying you must have enough room to move. This is reinforced by the book suggesting that crawling (which implies you have room to move) through a 2 1/2 foot space is not enough...

    A silly question about Evasion

The DMG is actually more ambiguous. As with a Reflex save for any creature, a character must have room to move in order to evade. A bound character or one squeezing through an area (crawling through a 2-1/2-foot-wide shaft, for example) cannot use evasion. "room to move" is open to...

Any down sides to having DM fail to detect illusions?

It's all opinion, so I have no problem with you stating yours. And I'm not in this thread trying to convince anyone of anything. The OP asked for opinions and I offered one. If someone has questions about it, I'll respond to it. But I don't think you're "wrong." I don't think it's a question...

    A silly question about Evasion

This. It's an unavoidable conclusion that Evasion exist strictly to provide increased survive-ability for classes which are penalized from wearing medium and heavy armor due to imposed Dex restrictions. Nevertheless, Evasion doesn't make a lot of logical sense given the rules that surround...

    A silly question about Evasion

As I said, you don't know what the word means. But your supposition is not bad. It's wrong....but it's logical.

    A silly question about Evasion

False. Heavy shields carry an armor check penalty which means what? It mean they limit your movement. Then you're not really familiar with "logic" are you? Arguing that carrying around a Tower Shield shouldn't affect your mobility is decidedly moronic. Now a TS may actually give you Evasion...

    A silly question about Evasion

I'd be careful about using that rationale with Turbine and any on-line game. In some cases, I'd agree, but in many others, it's a product of bugs and poor implementation. DDO got Evasion wrong when they implemented from the get go. By the time they got around to addressing it, there were so...
