    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Out of curiosity, is there anything in the 5E materials (either 2014 or 2024) to suggest that this is the case? That is, does the text give any indication that chaotic creatures (or at least, chaotic planar creatures) have greater diversity of form than other beings?

EN World What you thought a thread title said.

And here I thought that there was an "Invisible RPG Announced." It would have been the ultimate in terms of games which are bought but never actually read.

For a limited time, Precis Intermedia is offering a bundle with all of the classic reprints of the Shatterzone RPG line, originally released by West End Games. The bundle represents a 25% discount over buying the books individually, and since there's no listing for how long it will be available...

WotC Skeleton Key game studio shut down?

I'm not aware of any details, beyond that it was supposed to be a AAA video game.

D&D General Why grognards still matter

To nitpick the definitions, I was given to understand that after 1979 or maybe 1980, they wouldn't have been Gen X.

That's literally how they described it. They're having a sale "for reasons," quothe Lightspress Media.

WotC Skeleton Key game studio shut down?

Take this with a grain of salt, but there's apparently a rumor going around that Hasbro/WotC has shut down their Skeleton Key game studio: https://80.lv/articles/wizards-of-the-coast-s-skeleton-key-s-aaa-game-reportedly-canceled/ To excerpt the relevant portion of the article:

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

They seem to have removed the human aspect from a lot of monsters that used to have it. Like, that marilith looks like a giant collection of scab tissue with six arms now, the sphinx has become just a big cat with wings, etc.

What are you reading in 2025?

I just finished reading a 1999 reprint of Ernest Ingersoll's 1928 book, Dragons and Dragon Lore. I had a hard time getting into this one at first. Part of the reason for that was because, perhaps because I'd been reading several more recently-written books with an anthropological focus, I...

D&D 3.x ISO Sources: New Uses For Old Skills

Well, in that case you might want to look at giving out free skill unlocks. Which reminds me, there are also occult skill unlocks that are basically another selection of new uses for old skills.

D&D 3.x ISO Sources: New Uses For Old Skills

I'm not sure how useful these are, and you've probably taken note of them already, but there are epic skill uses that you might get some use out of.

D&D 3.x ISO Sources: New Uses For Old Skills

For another book with new uses for old skills, check out Legendary Games' Mythic Skills (affiliate link). While it's technically meant for characters with mythic tiers, there's a section right in the beginning about using these with non-mythic characters.

D&D 3.x ISO Sources: New Uses For Old Skills

I don't have a copy of it myself (yet), but Little Red Goblin Games' Alternate Paths: Skills (affiliate link) also seems promising. (Make sure to check out the full-size preview; it's huge!)

D&D 3.x ISO Sources: New Uses For Old Skills

The major problem is that there aren't a lot of books dedicated specifically to this idea; usually what you have are a few new uses for old skills tucked between a lot of other content, which means that you're getting very little bang for your buck (notwithstanding the value of the other...

What is/are your most recent TTRPG purchase(s)?

I just picked up Far Distant Future Publishing's Awesome Ancestries: Variant Species Options Vol. 2 - Multiverse of Mayhem (affiliate link) for PF1. I have to take a moment to express my awe for Far Distant Future Publishing as a company...by which I mean for Bryan Mangum personally, since as...

    D&D General Deleted

This reminds me of something I heard somewhere about how, in AD&D 1E, paladins had a higher Charisma requirement than bards, and bards had a higher Strength requirement than paladins. So your local paladin was best situated in a tavern where he could win friends and influence people, while your...
