Thought on the yearly Core Books

I don't like it, as it seems clear to me that default assuption for a module will be that you have all of the "core" books. This will likely make any modules published after the first year unusable for me since I can't imagine that I'll buy more than the 3 main core books. I also suspect that...

D&D 4E The 4E warlock -- love at first glimpse

Uggghhh. Put me down in the "too cheesy for words" category. Of course, we'd have to know more to say for sure, but stuff like this does not fill me with excitement for the new edition. Quite the opposite...

Give me a competent arguement that WotC is "changing rules for the sake of change"

Wayne Lion said: "And they do need changing." In your opinion, which is of course not shared by everyone. "If money was the only thing, they could easily continue to put out a Monster Manual, an adventure, a Realms sourcebook of some type, a rules heavy book, a themed book on a monster...

    Will you subscribe to DDI?

I mostly agree with what you're saying, with one caveat: a Character generator. With 3E, a character generator was a must for me to DM. Despite all of the talk about 4E being streamlined, I imagine that a character generator will still be quite a handy tool and, at this point, it looks like...

D&D 4E Is 4E winning you or losing you?

Losing me. The main dealbreaker for me is DDI, as I refuse to pay a monthly subscription fee for website access. An offline character generator, sold as a stand alone product, is a must for me to DM, and if they're not going to provide it then I'm not going to bother picking up any 4E books...

    Character Generator

I posted something very similiar to this a few weeks back. I am VERY concerned about the character generator option, as Etools is the only thing that has allowed me to DM 3.0/3.5. I'm not interested in a subscription, so a character generator as a stand alone product is a must for me if I'm...

    Character Generator

Just wondering if I'm the only one bothered by the fact that it seems the character generator will only be available through the subscription website. I'm interested in 4E, but I've found that I wouldn't be able to prep for my 3E games without Etools, and a character generator is a must if I'm...

D&D 4E Was Monte's decision to retire influenced by 4E?

I do, and after looking again, still do. YMMV

D&D 4E Was Monte's decision to retire influenced by 4E?

While a think the term "fatally flawed" is a bit presumptous, Monte is in a odd spot, much like Gygax was when 3E was released. In many ways, 3E was Monte's game, and I wouldn't be surprised if he likes it better than anything else that WOTC may have coming down the pipe, much as Gygax feels...

Will anyone fill WOTC's shoes with 3E?

I have so many things that I still want to explore with d20 3.0/3.5 that I doubt that I'll switch anyway. I hope that there is still a company that publishes a few things here and there. I imagine that my game group can continue exploring 3.5 up to the time that 4.5/5.0 comes out.

What happens if we don't like it?

If we don't like it we vote with our wallets. If books sales slow and DI users don't hit projected numbers WOTC will have to decide what to do to fix the problem. A 5th edition, lowering cost for DI, selling the D&D brand, etc, etc. I imagine that it will do just fine, but you never know.

    D&D 5E (2014) Scott Rouse and D&D Team on 5th Edition ("satire")

I found the OP mildly amusing, and the hand wringing cries of "How could you, ya big meanie!" hilarious.

    D&D 4E My Initial Impressions of 4E

Here are my initial thoughts, although they're not nearly as well thought out as yours: 1. I've barely begun to explore all of the options in 3.0/3.5. I'm interested in 4th edition, but first I've got to finish my current D&D game, start a D20 Modern game, maybe a superhero game, etc, etc...

Pathfinder 1E An open letter to Paizo

I have to second the comment wondering why you're posting this here. You don't approve of the item and that's fine, but why not post on Paizo's message board or, better yet, send them an email with a copy of your receipts showing them just how much money they will lose if they continue selling...

    Flash Gordon

My wife and I watched Flash and agreed that it sucked. I wasn't holding out much hope for a good show, but I thought that it would be better than what we got. Oh well, here's hoping that Dresden comes back.

My Wife is in TV Guide - Who Wants To Be A Superhero 2

Wow. That short of a timespan, huh? Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind as I watch.

My Wife is in TV Guide - Who Wants To Be A Superhero 2

Here's something that I've always wondered: What is the time frame for the "shoot." In other words, how many days/weeks are these people contracted for and how much real time passes as we watch the show?

    Yahoo! BillPay discontinuing service

I'd recommned CheckFree.com (as another poster already has). I used to work for them and they are the company that handled and processed all of Yahoo!'s bill pay services, so if you liked Yahoo you should do fine with CheckFree, although I'm not sure what their fees are nowadays (it's been 5-6...
