    Arkham Horror

It's nearly impossible to beat solo, IMO, because the gates open up too fast. It's not so bad in multi-player games.

    Arkham Horror

Great game! What I really like about it is that each game is different because you have a different BBEG and you have different special powers/items for your invesitgators. It's also beautiful to look at, with lots of evil goodness.

If You Had an Unlimited Budget How Would Enhance The D&D Experience

When I was in High School the basement was the "play room" for my brother and I. Most of my early D&D experiences took place in that basement and since then I've always associated D&D with basements. When my fiance and I finally buy a house the only requirement that I have is that it must have...

How many teachers on the boards?

What area will you be teaching? Teaching is a great job (and not just because you get summers off-but it helps:) The first year will likely be your worst. It starts to get easier after that. I think that I hit my stride in year three-so don't give up on it if your first year (or student...

How many teachers on the boards?

With the beginning of a new school year fast approaching, I got to wondering how many of you out there are teachers? My group of 4 includes 3 teachers (myself included) and with the calender flipping over to August we're all starting to get a little depressed. So how many of you are heading...

    Campaign in a Box

I just wanted to pipe in to say that you LIE! Summer is NOT almost over! Christoph-just another teacher in denial

Where do DMs usually start out?

The first campaign that I ever ran was back in 1993. I was 16 or 17, DMing for a group my age. The thought of a world never really occurred to me. It was simply "generic D&D world". I exclusively ran published modules, but I didn't stick to just one setting. I picked anything that caught my...

    Battlestar Galactica Returns! Who's excited!?

We're pretty psyched at our house. We've got the DVR set as we have plans for Friday. We'll be watching it as soon as we get home!

Monte on Origins awards and ENnies

OK. #1: Rasyr said, "...You can join the Academy and help too!!" To which you replied, "Prove to me that the Origins Awards are worth saving, and I'll be happy to help." Since the offer was for you to join to help fix things, and you're saying that you'd be happy to help once he proves the...

Monte on Origins awards and ENnies

Well, that's not a very helpful attitude. It's easy to sit back and complain. It's a lot harder to put your money where your mouth is and pitch in to help. I'm just a regular Joe. I don't care about the Origins awards one way or another. Yeah, if a game I like happens to win I think...

Booting players - What are your nightmare stories?

I've never personally booted anyone out. I did game in a group several years ago with 2 extremely unpleasant people (dice throwers, whiners, etc). Another member of the group finally decided that he'd had enough. He put together a new group (a couple of new people and the "good" people from...

    Outlook problem

Hi. My GF has deleted her address book on her computer running Win 98. This has caused the Outlook program to respond with an error message when she attempts to open. Researching the error message tells us that Outlook can't run without the address book and to reinstall it. The problem is...

    Dragon 334, Malhavoc's Surprise = Ptolus

Add me to the "big whoop" list. I hope he sells a million copies, but I won't be getting it. There are already plenty of settings on the market and I'm very happy with the run I'm running. (Kalamar, FYI)
