    Help with my Artificer

My character has 14 Str, 14 Dex, 18 Con, 18 Int, 14 Wis, and a 14 Cha. I choose con over dex because this DM is somewhat infamous for throwing around high damage dealing enemies. I guess so far I want to focus a little on not being focused on any one thing. I've visited the WotC boards, and all...

    Help with my Artificer

Well, I found the rules on slotless items. Thanks for the tip. Does anyone else have any thoughts?

    AD&D 1E Holdover rules from 1e/2e

Although I enjoy the aging effect some spells had in 2nd addition, I'm glad they got rid of it. It was just another excuse to play a stupid elf mage. Our games were crawling with the filthy buggers.

    Help with my Artificer

I'm getting ready to play a 6th level artificer, and I would like some assistance in creating her. I usually play the arcane caster, so I'm not quite used to depending solely on magic items to save me. I would like some advice on the following: Magic item selection: I get to start at the half...

Give Favored Soul turning ability: Yes or No?

I would give the class turning, simply because the use of divine energy seems to suit someone who has the favor of a god. Heck, everybody and their mother can squeeze out a divine spell or two. But directly channeling divine energy to smite ones foes...

The Happenings of Lucifus Cray: Update{23}07/06/06 - The Threading of the Weave

Yo, Herremann, any chance of you and your group posting a rogues gallery? I'd really enjoy seeing the numbers behind your characters.

How to make an "Indiana Jones" type character

Thanks for all the replys, everyone! I like the thought of the Akashic... its presents an interesting sort of character in Eberron. Has anyone played an Akashic? I've skimmed through the class once or twice, but have never given it much thought. How would such a character fit in Eberron?

How to make an "Indiana Jones" type character

I'm gonna be playing in an Eberron game soon, and I think it would be really neat to play an Indiana Jones type character. Does anyone have any ideas on how to pull this off with it being a cheesy carbon copy of Indiana Jones? So far, I'm thinking a ranger with levels in Extreme Explorer. Any...

    Is this character too pwerful?

Good grief, I'm glad that I'm not gaming with most of the people in this thread... the stats look fine to me. I've rolled stats just as good, if not better, in front of my DM. Those stats aren't that powerful. The equipment doesn't add up. I would go over it again.

Need help with a Necromancer concept

    Any other thoughts?

    Energy Substitution (Sonic)

We actually do encounter alot of outsiders in our games. Once we reach higher levels, the outer planes tend to become our playing field. Outsiders are the enemy. But the main thing the PC's have to deal with is leveled outsiders. It is true that a mage character has weapons against outsiders...

    Energy Substitution (Sonic)

Blarg, I guess I'm the only one who isn't pleased that they took away sonic substitution. It was nice for the PC's to have a weapon against outsiders. Now the outsiders have too many strengths.

Need help with a Necromancer concept

It says in the PH that Necormancy spells manipulate the powers of Death, Undeath, and the Life Force. I have decided that I shall make a necromancer who deals with Life Force. I wish to avoid the annoying stereotypical necromancer; I don't intend to raise any undead and the like. But the problem...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Incantatrix question

In the 3.0 version, everyone who entered the Incantatrix prestige class became an Abjurer specialist, even if they are a already a specialist, or even a sorcerer. Does the 3.5 version have the same rule?

What have i missed about Greenbound Summoning?

As an alternative to making the feat epic, which would mean that most groups would never get to take it, why not take a look at the Savage Speices book and divide the benefits of the greenbound template into levels, like a class. As a character gains in level, he slowly gets more benefits out of...

What have i missed about Greenbound Summoning?

You have some good points, Two. I suppose modifying the feat would be appropiate. Change it to something like "can only be used x amount of times in a day." I am generally against "nerfing," so I try to modify things without utterly screwing them. My problem with "broken" is that too many DM's...

What have i missed about Greenbound Summoning?

Sigh... more nonsense about things being "broken." That word is very annoying. The feat makes sense to me, mainly because it's in the "Lost Empires" of Faerun. Stuff is lost for a reason. It's an ancient form of magic, therefore its going to be powerful. I believe the intended purpose of the...

    Generation: rolling vs. point buy

I personally only roll for stats; I can't stand point buy. I like for PC's to be different; point buy makes them too similar stat wise. Plus I like the ability to have multiple 18's.

Why can't I kill my pc's. Just once?

Wow, I'm glad my DM isn't some nutcase whose only purpose is to try and ruin our fun. Sorry if I'm being rude, but the original poster sounds like some chump with a power problem. "Oh, I can't KILL the PC's, I must be doing something wrong." Please, for the sake of those of us who...
