    What WotC licenses remain?

Hackmaster relies pretty heavily on 1st ed AD&D. Not exactly, but close enogh to cause trouble without the assurances Kenzerco seems to have. Hackmaster could be considered as an alternate universe's 3rd edition.

    What WotC licenses remain?

Thanks, had Traveller (and 2300, and Megatraveller, though not the d20 version). Right now, I'd just try and do something through d20 Modern. In most sci-fi games the big leap is either abadoning physics or creating a loophole to get around that voyages to other star systems would take...

    Oots 445

Okay, the wounds on Belkar could easily become a "#4" Also, for Psi(Severed Head), V took some hits in 440: Flew the Coop http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0440.html And while "#" is a pretty obvious "I'm a stick figure beat to smeg", it is where V gets marked. and

    What WotC licenses remain?

At the time, I was really looking for a good hard SF game, and it just didn't ring my bell. I remember when I saw reruns on the sci-fi channel a few years back of the TV show, and realized how different it was when viewed by someone other than a 13 year old boy enjoying the apparent spandex...

    What WotC licenses remain?

I'm down with that; I'd love to see OA brought fully up to 3.5 speed. (The Dragon update was good, but I want Kara-Tur back.)

    What did TSR do wrong?

Allow me to add that with internet content instead of a magazine, I cannot browse through pages and pages of ads to keep up with new stuff coming out, as necessity keeps my FLGS from staying current with everything. I was happy that the magazines I subscribe/d to (Dragon, Dungeon, Sky &...

Tom Moldvay passes away (see post #52)

I certainly got into the game with the Moldvay rules. Rest in Peace, Mr. Moldvay.

    What WotC licenses remain?

I will grant that the XXVc RPG roundly sucked, with the Richard Scary reminiscent artwork, and the "Ages 10 and up" (Translation: Ages 10-12) approach, but the board game rocked. Hey, the planets actually moved from turn to turn!

    Humor - OotS #443

I agree with this completely. I kinda got the idea that the idea "Lawful Good" = "Vanilla" led Rich to add Miko to the strip in the first place.

What didn't people like about Greyhawk From the Ashes?

I started playing with the '83 Greyhawk folder, so I see a lot of the hater's points, but I liked Carl Sargent's work so much (and even the feel of the artwork) that I was willing to forgive a lot. Plus, by this point I was just stealing stuff for my own campaign, and if I went back to my...

    OotS #409

Yeah, I actually care about these characters (you accidentally left out a couple of "much"s).

Which team will win Super Bowl XLI?

    Well. Live and learn. Funky.

Which team will win Super Bowl XLI?

I'll be cheering for the Bears, but I picked the COlts -- because they don't have Rex Grossman.

    RIP - Eric's Grandma

Eric, This is such a friendly, civilized board that I think that many of us feel some connection to each other. It seems moreso when I look at people who are reasonable enighbors in real space, as well as cyberspace. Please accept my condolences on the death of your grandmother. Every...

    Alignment myths?

"If you have a personal code, that makes you lawful" The way that this is often treated, especially in threads about "What alignment is [favorite book/movie/comic/etc. charater]?" I'd provide a couple of example that have set me off, but this thread is so darn polite for an alignment...

Core Religion Survivor - Round Eleven

Obad-Hai, yer goin' down! Anyone mentioned in one of the D&D "movies" should just zap themselves out of shame!

Should potions of longevity be put back in the game?

Heirs who really want to get to the throne before they die of old age, secret societies out to avenge those who cheat death (didn't Planescape have one of these?) ... Personally, what I liked out the potion of longevity was the risky drawback. I'd always make sure to have some risk of ultimate...

Should potions of longevity be put back in the game?

That's what I thought you meant, though it seemed that airwalkrr & ByronD were going the other way with it. I also got curious about the math and wanted to follow it through. :) Thank you for the image of a keg of longevity ... :D

Thanks! I missed that article. I'll go look it up now ...

Should potions of longevity be put back in the game?

I said yes. The ancient wizard who loves some form(s) of physical pleasure too much to give them up using magic to extend his/her life, is a fantasy staple. Especially if it takes the form of some deal-with-death-unholy-bargain. My chioce in campaign flavor right now is that there should...
