    Advantage on Damage Rolls

Sure and 1d12 is 6.5 increased to 8.49 with advantage which is slightly different than only re-rolling low dice. My point is that across the board the +2 damage from The Dueling Fighting Style is better.

    Advantage on Damage Rolls

Sorcerer Empowered spell meta magic is very similar letting you re-roll 1 dice per charisma modifier per spell each time you use a sorcerers point to empower the spell and it has the unique ability to stack with other meta magic. I could see a monk subclass doing the same thing with Ki and a...

D&D 5E (2014) Takning the Off hand shield as an improvised weapon and running crazy with it...

Sure, I really don't care about the damage just the implication that you could impower the weapon as with Divine smite it was just easier to do demonstrate my points with Fighter Champion and Forge Domain Cleric as they together have an example of all the edge cases I could think of that would...

D&D 5E (2014) Takning the Off hand shield as an improvised weapon and running crazy with it...

The 3rd D8 is the weapon, however that means in my rush to meat a friend I for some reason used a D8 instead of a D4 for the shield. I have fixed it. It seems like your in the camp it only counts as a weapon during the attack. - You can't enchant it with Blessing of the Forge +1 Damage...

D&D 5E (2014) Takning the Off hand shield as an improvised weapon and running crazy with it...

Well that's part of my question... I tend to agree but I think their is room for debate since the Officially posted Compendium stats that your intended to be able to use it with a shield. The question is weather using the shield as a weapon then breaks that rule, because it is still a shield for...

So I saw this other thread: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?654248-Shield-Attacks-and-AC-Bonus Strider1973 asked if you keep the AC bonus if your using the shield as a weapon which has been answered in official documentation...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

While I don't agree this thread is a cesspool, its a conversation where points have been made and many changes to original list as a result. I do agree overkill favors Polearm Master but I have no idea how to formulate scenario variables into an answer. Polearm master is great feat and perhaps...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

Sorry it took me so long to get to your post there is a lot going on here but some good points and I did put a High AC / High single 1 handed weapon DPR Balance at the bottom... let me see what you've got. - My first note is that D&D 5e has rules for taking the money instead of the gear in the...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

You are correct, and if you look at Page one the first post that is exactly what I did. Lowest-highest and average, perhaps including lowest and average was misleading but it kept coming up so I put it. Correct. There are in fact so many variables that any "Average DPR" conversation is really...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

You are correct in that trying to get max damage is meaningless because no one gets max damage all the time and it does not reflect actual damage. Also, neither does DPR adjusted with % to hit because it does not take into account adjusting battle conditions like flanking advantage, reactions...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

Sure, and if the topic was combat Superiority instead of highest possible DPR then that could be the way to go. I don't really want to go that route because its scenario based and if you change the scenario you change superiority. For example if your doing DPR and you let great weapon master...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

This is a valid point, point for the sake of this specific poste. I just did not consider this as I have never built a barbarian with polearm master. That said, as FrogReaver stated, I am interested in MAX damage just as an experiment in theory crafting. It was possibly miss leading for me to...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

But through your own addition even your calculations don't account for actual play. So from an actual game play stand point you are not wrong on DPR. The purpose of the thread originally is AC... which is easy to determine and hard to debate. My DPR addition was and is just a max possible DPR...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

I will respond to both your posts at the same time. So I did it my calculation based on what I can know 100%. That is the only way to put a strait answer. If your doing it scenario based, you need to out line the scenario then do that math for that. In my case, I made the scenario 100% hit...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

So that's not a bad idea, however removed reactions because its more scenario based and the GM can for example hold enemies back an make you come to them. So in fairness I took reactions out to include sentinel due to unpredictability. As a result the Barbarian is going to beat out the 16 DPR...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

Fixed the quarterstaff. Thanks for the catch. As far as hex, thats true but if they start out of melee range can cast it heading to engage it has 0 impact. Since that is scenario relevant and does not reflect in raw data then its not possible for me to weigh it. I could break that down into...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

I am not saying your wrong but their are 2 considerations here. 1. Enemy selection is GM dependent which means what your saying will not be true all the time with every GM. Even in that range the only common enemies under CR1 for level 1 fights with a higher than AC15 are Guards at AC16 and...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5e] Level 1 Max Min Fun DPR and AC

Yes, the Shield in the spell name is figurative not literal and the spell does not say otherwise. There for per the rules of receiving bonuses from separate sources stacking being a spell and a physical shield they do stack. At least until a hit knock out that concentration.
