    Summon Monster Spells

There's plenty of LG and LE to use, though. Be sure and take the Law domain, and the Summoner(ing?) domain out of Complete Divine / Spell Compendium.

    Summon Monster Spells

It's not really a restriction as much as an annoyance, though. Even if clerics are supposed to be worse summoners than wizards (which I doubt, due to the existence of the Thaumaturge PrC and identical summoning potential), they aren't even balanced with one another. As was already mentioned, a N...

    Summon Monster Spells

What is the game balance reasoning for only being able to summon specific creatures of a specific alignment? What is the flavor/fluff reasoning? For example, a fiendish hawk is CE. Why? Moreover, why can we not summon a LE or NE fiendish hawk or a celestial hawk? I'm always running into...

Our wild mage is killing me!

Well I'd get it just for dropping it on top of people alone. I do that with summons, but it never even occurred to use mount.

Our wild mage is killing me!

Wow. That's actually pretty damned amazingly creative. Watch as I steal it. Except that the spell text says "to willingly serve you as a mount. Does that mean it will not or can not perform other tasks such as moving down a hallway alone to trigger a trap?

Does anyone else find DR X/magic useless?

As 3.5 was coming out I remember reading that the rationale behind eliminating the specific +'s was so that players weren't quickly scrounging for the highest plus available and would be freer to choose more more varied special abilities without risking party survival.

Natural attacks and Class attacks confusion

Translation: I lost this argument. Also: if you prefer to believe a "big name" gaming celebrity over an ENWorld poster just because they wrote some books, why even bother talking? Just to argue?

Does anyone else find DR X/magic useless?

Or, give it Improved Disarm and have it snatch away the magical weapons and throw them (or use them).

What is your local game store situation?

The nearest gaming specific store is over 30 minutes from me (all the ones they put near my area wither and die within a year or two). I usually head to Borders or Barnes & Noble to read new books that come out, then I buy them on Amazon. I've heard people talk about supporting your local game...

I tried the 4 player standard, what a mess...

That's very true. I just lost an ogre to one swing of a level 1 dwarf fighter's heavy pick on Saturday, I believe it was 30 damage. Yes, that is 2 points shy of maximum possible damage on a x4 crit with 14 str.

UGT and the Gleemax Advisory Board...

What about Meepo? That'd be the best name for what this is supposed to be all about.

Duels of Impending DOOM! An exercise on PVP/PVE battles

Ok I've read about this druid vs. barb fight in at LEAST 4 threads now, why can't we move on? You have basically demonstrated that a (severely twinked) flying character with powerful magical ranged attacks will kill a melee character who has zero cover and throwing axes around 100% of the time...

    When You Keep Killing Characters?

I agree with this 100%. You know they suck at tactics, they're all mixed levels, they have no burst spell power due to the recharge variant, and you're throwing combat monster CR 8 outsiders at them? Outsiders are already more-challenge-for-your-buck-for-their-CR-number. I don't understand the...

    High AC Barbarian

1 vs 1 deathmatches against a druid outside is probably not the best way to gauge a character's effectiveness. Try it underground with the barbarian getting a surprise round from 20 feet away and tell us what happens.

Size Small Caster--Benefit, Detriment, or Neutral?

While the "nobody-with-good-strength" is certainly possible, I think I've run one game where somebody didn't have a hulking melee destroyer with more than enough strength to carry 15 lbs. of gnome gear...and when is teamwork considered poor policy? Plus why don't people buy a stupid Haversack...

    When You Keep Killing Characters?

So what you're saying is that wands and scrolls allow them to buff the whole party, and not the recharge magic? I'm just trying to defend this system since it's actually pretty darn nice and the way it was portrayed in this thread kind of made me giggle. The only way you can buff a whole party...

    High AC Barbarian

+4 size bonus to hide checks, +2 racial bonus to move silent, +2 racial bonus to Dexterity... I don't understand why when people add rogue levels they suddenly think the character has to skulk around and backstab. Must be hangover from 2e. But what's this about big, heavy armor? Mithral...

    High AC Barbarian

If we're talking straight up AC I'd go halfling (or even better, whisper gnome if it's allowed). I'd also add a few rogue levels to get back some damage and because that synergises well with both halfling and whisper gnome.

Can I get a little hand-holding through magic item creation?

Well I kinda assumed that since you said the player wants to create the item that he had the spell on his spell list and could thus cast it. Let's not forget that Stoneskin lasts 10 minutes per level, and this effect lasts one round per level; and after that you lose all the other benefits of...

    When You Keep Killing Characters?

So they each have both Bull Strength and Enlarge Person and only cast them on one other character? Do they always get to cast all their buffs before every fight? That probably helps a lot if they do. You do realize those two spells are on specific recharge times; they are only available to cast...
