Bring all your pettiest complaints about the playtest

Yeah I don't know why they're stepping away from Fort/Ref/Will, because there are mainly going to be two problems resulting from this. - It will be hard to find spells that target certain stats - When there is a spell that targets one of those hard to find stats it will have to be fairly weak...

Finally, the Fighter can both Stunt and Hit

As you get multiple dice, it would be great if using these to parry/protect wasn't a reaction. I'd think you should be able to spend them as long as you have dice (after all that's why you saved them).

    Hit Points per Level

Except that hill dwarfs will bump the d8, up to a d10 and get 6 hp.

D&D 3.x The New Playtest: Why return the failed 3e mechanics?

The BAB difference is pretty minor from the looks of it (granted we only have 5 levels to look at right now). A difference of 2-3 points isn't too bad at end levels. Toughness in here is giving quite a leg up on hit points/healing than it had in previous editions. But the question is will it...

    Hit Points per Level

I missed this regarding other classes, but the Sorcerer and Warlock get their Con Modifier per level. Con Modifier per level, does not lead to lower hit point totals, personally I preferred the thought of Con Modifier setting your minimum dice roll, but now that appears to be half the dice...

    D&D 5E (2014) Multiclass in 5E

I think dabbling is the best type of multi-classing, not the 3e way. Because level 1 isn't actually 0 exp, it's dedicating a good portion of your life to be considered that class (instead of a commoner). The fighter shouldn't just suddenly learn to do magic after clearing out a cave of kobolds...

Is the Healer Specialty Too Powerful?

I don't know about it's power. But I will say it seems strange to have a feat that more or less removes an entire subset of dice rolling (imagine a feat that lets you roll 20 on any skill checks, or max damage all the time). Why do we have hit dice if this feat is in there, its almost guaranteed...

Backgrounds, Specialties, and the other classes

With a Necromancer Specialization already in there... An animal companion specialization shouldn't be too far behind.

    D&D 5E (2014) Multiclass in 5E

If they go 3e, they need to start testing it soon, they've already got issues for that. Snap Shot + Sneak Attack.. Spend your action to hide, and can sneak attack in the same turn.

Finally, the Fighter can both Stunt and Hit

Good point, but the offensive fighter is almost fixed with glancing blow. Almost because it doesn't quite work as well as it should. Spend it for damage on a miss, spend it for more damage on a hit. To fix this for defensive it would require them to allow you spend it to heal if you didn't have...

    Weaker 1st level characters

I'd rather not see a red box with different creation rules. I'd prefer it to be built more as a choose your own pregen. It just makes it more difficult to transition them into the players, and it also makes the beginner set a pointless buy for anyone who plans on getting into the full game. I...

Finally, the Fighter can both Stunt and Hit

That option assumes that your opponent is more skilled than you. You have to decide to risk going after him full on, or play defensive. Then your opponent is able to read your moves, and can see if you are ready to defend and can choose to ignore (negating your dice), or go elsewhere. The other...

    Non Advantage/Disadvantage bonus and penalties

The problem with just having Advantage/Disadvantage is that there's no middle ground. And when you have class abilities that ride on those (Sneak Attack), making them too easy makes those abilities really powerful. What they need is just a partial or lesser advangatage/disadvantage, which is...

Jack of all Trades & Survivor

Some character are worried more about destroying the opposition quicker. Some are worried about outsmarting the opposition quicker. The survivor is in for the long game, and is set to win the battle by attrition. The survivor yells for the party to go ahead, while he delays the enemy. Get's...

Jack of all Trades & Survivor

I'm actually a big fan of the Survivor Specialty, but I think they have room to add more feats than toughness to it. Perhaps damage reduction, or improved saving throws, easier ability to regain conciousness in combat, etc... Toughness would just be the first one. I also like the idea of having...

[Playtest 2] Races: Humans too good?

I'd be more for +1 to 3 stats, and advantage for Streetwise checks where at least half the population is human.

Why do Halflings get damage bonuses?

It's to try and keep up with humans. Whatever signature weapons the other races have, humans are better then they are with the weapon. Dwarven Fighter with Great Axe: 16 Str: +6 vs AC; 2d6+3 (avg 10) dmg Human Fighter with Great Axe: 18 Str: +7 vs AC; 1d12+4 (avg 10.5) dmg Elf Fighter with...

    Dual-weapon fighting is extremely lackluster

I like the idea of allowing anyone to use the base two-weapon fighting. Make the feat allow you to make a second attack with offhand if you miss for half damage.

That looked like stats I put together months ago... Dunno if it was, but here's the full graph: http://skitzinc.wikispaces.com/file/view/4d6Chart.png

[Playtest 2] Races: Humans too good?

I just found it odd from an attacks perspective. (I used standard array to avoid rolling issues) I went to build an archer and was planning on elf -- 1d10 longbow, but only a 17 for stat (+6 attack, avg 8.5 dmg). Then I realized that a human would actually be more accurate -- 1d8 longbow, 18...
