    Return of the Bard

I just want to put in more on how awesome the Skald build from Heroes of the Feywild (4e) is. I see is as a great leader, inspiring the troops. They aren't healers as much as they lead by example, and the party better keep up (Healing is open to anyone to trigger for themself, or by assisting...

    Alignment in D&DN...

I think alignment should be on the character sheets, but not in the books... It can reside between eye color and hair color, and have just as much impact on my game. Except all (non-colorblind) creatures get the ability to detect eye color/hair color... nobody can read my alignment. But what...

    Consume, Engage, Cherish

What I'd like from a book... The size of the Essentials books, the art/style of 3e, but enough crunch data that I don't feel there's things missing, and its easy to reference (The Essentials books were lacking in this, with having to flip through the entire class level by level to figure out...

    Healing Without Surges

I don't care if they use healing surges or what, but there should be limitations to how many potions/wands can be used on you. Otherwise instead of HP, we should just deal damage directly to gold. Also I'd like a resource for how many fights/how long a character can go during an allotment of...

    Healing Without Surges

I'd rather have healing that allows my players to participate in the game. Things that are going to take days or weeks for a character to heal, I can make up on my own as things to fit the story. Such as player A is going on vacation for a couple weeks, that's a good time to say his character...

New WotC Article - Deadly Dice

Some players like combat, that doesn't mean they like their characters to die. There's no reason that this person's playstyle should be seen as a risk to the entire group, and then to be avoided at all costs. Deaths should be rare, and it should be obvious to players when they are in...

    L&L 3/05 - Save or Die!

PC creation doesn't take 10 minutes in any game, except for the very first session. Usually you are loosing MONTHS or YEARS of character development when your character dies. And if resurrection is your answer, than why do you need SoD? SoD is not at all scary, if it involves restoring to your...

Target 20 as new to-hit mechanic?

If this is serious, then I guess they're giving up on speeding up combat. Between this and opposed checks for spells, you've got a ridiculous amount of rolls/hunting for numbers that is completely unnecessary. Or, maybe that's why we're looking so much at SoD, because if we can reduce combat to...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Biggest Issue in 5E

Previous Edition Baggage. Everything is important, but make or break on 5e is this. I'm trying to be optimistic for them, but its going to take a helluva marketing campaign (open playtest is a good start) to make this fly.

    Stat bumps from level increase

I'd be interested in this, if you could also throw a rider on it that makes higher stats increase at a slower rate than lower stats. As in me rolling poorly on starting stats, means my stats will increase at a faster rate, than the person who rolled great stats at the beginning.

    L&L 3/05 - Save or Die!

Here's how I would run a Medusa (and since this chat, have been thinking of throwing one at my party in the near future)... Aura 5: Any creature that starts its turn in the aura is subject to the following attack +X vs Fortitude Hit: The target makes a death save, on the first failed death save...

    How much should HP scale?

I like front-loading the hit points, so adventurers don't die before they begin. So somewhere between x3 and x4 would work.

D&D Race You Hate the Most

I can't say I have a least favorite race. I could see myself playing any of them in some campaign. I also wouldn't have a problem with someone else playing one in a game, assuming it is setting appropriate.

    L&L 3/05 - Save or Die!

I think after reading enough of comments like this, 5e is dead already. Those that are playing earlier editions are not open to anything except a reprint of their own edition. WotC created another excellent edition with 4e, that was what a lot of people were looking for from their game. So they...

Which class do you hate the most?

I picked fighter, since it is nothing more than generic man with weapon. At least in 4th, it was broken up a bit by being strong man with weapon, archers were at least better served by going ranger... Though ranger would have be next on my list, that it encompasses both archers, and why does...

D&D 5E (2014) Stupid math stuff that vaguely pertains to 5e.

For combat, I'd rather they raise accuracy, and lower damage (or raise HP). If combat has a chance to take a while, it'd be better if the players usually hit on their turn, instead of waiting each round, just to miss.

Tiefling and half-orc should not be in the PHB

I'm for more options, and let GM's sort them out. Personally Warforged are always very popular in my home game (we tend towards Eberron style or at least built on ruins of technomagic civilizations), and my favorite race has become the Mul (if they just had a system for half-breeds I could do...

D&D Blog. Should Fighters get multiple attacks?

    I could go with this: Multiple attacks -2 for 2, -4 for 3 Two-weapon fighting gives a +2 to attack (So 1 attack at +2, 2 attacks at +0, or 3 attacks at -2)

    What's in a (Spell) Name? - Poll

I find it hard to imagine the D&D spell books without them... But I see no reason to add more just to add more, if something is added it should be for some contribution in the real world of D&D, that is worthy of being immortalized by the game. Getting rid of them seems more like some type of...

Penalties and Being Small: Those who don't mind.

I'm fine with penalties for small creatures. I think 3.5 went too far with the small weapons idea though, and prefer the simplified 4e style (you can't use a greatsword, it takes 2 hands for a longsword, etc..). I think it'd be kind of silly not to have small size penalties.
