No Macs? Holy crap did WotC do the math wrong!

Hm? I thought Virtual PC for Mac was still available? Apple haven't made iBooks for some time... I hope he got a license for Windows along with the rest of the documentation then? When you say 'Apple Store' do you mean an Apple Inc store or a third party? Given that there's a Mac version of...

No Macs? Holy crap did WotC do the math wrong!

No it doesn't (not as part of the standard software installed by Apple). And it doesn't help those of us with an older Mac that can't run Parallels or VMWare.

    Alignment and Party Dynamics

And I see this as another "We can't fix this set of rules, so let's just throw them out" decision. I feel that the rules could state clearly what good and evil deeds are. What lawful and chaotic deeds are. If you play alignment as "Alignment is determined from your actions" as opposed to...

    WotC does listen

So the announcement read: Any clarification as to whether this will be "converted, with both skirmish and rpg stats" or just "converted skirmish stats for use with the skirmish game only" ? Or it may mean that the skirmish players may be happy, and you may not get to see those 4E stats until...

So, I bet that the d12 is getting kicked to the curb...

The d4? Aka the caltrop of pain? Try standing on one in socks or bare feet. Or putting a number of heavy books on one (say hello to punctured cover on soft covered books).

D&D 4E What don't you like about 4E so far? (Not a rant)

What I was interested in was a refined and polished 3.5 than a whole new edition. Some of the art, in particular the nose-spikes on the chromatic dragons. The platform choices made for the DDI programs. More books, not less books seemingly to get the same options as the core 3E material. The...

    Greyhawk: Doomgrinder? Uh oh.

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/lgmp/20071003a As a Greyhawk fan, I've got a bad feeling about this. It may be nothing... but why would the Doomgrinder's hands be advancing towards midnight?

The last sentence spoils the fun

I have several players who do this, and it's not just with spells - feats/skills/class abilities/attack options/combat actions have all come up in situations where the player skim reads enough to cause me or another group member to have to clarify things. It happens. I've tried to encourage...

    Gaming Groups and their OS's

Mac OS X at home, Windows at work - not that it matters, since our corporate policies discourage the installation of non corporate software. Among our group, we have one or two windows users whose machines aren't likely to meet the minimum specs - and who wouldn't upgrade for 4E.

No Macs? Holy crap did WotC do the math wrong!

There's also examples like me. As mentioned before - in my group I seem to be the most interested in 4E, and I'm a Mac user. If my face-to-face group goes ahead with the idea that's being mooted of skipping an edition - then if I wanted to play 4E one obvious way would be the DDI. I could buy...

D&D 4E How long have they been thinking about 4E?

If it's anything like a major software development, there will be ideas that people have already come up with - that there simply isn't the time left to develop. Putting those ideas into a 'future products' or 'potential 5E ideas' folder would seem a sensible thing to do - don't throw them...

D&D 4E Is 4E the designers homebrew coming to my gaming table?

And I prefer my own house rules, which treats them not as subraces, but as different cultural groupings within Elvenkind. I'd much rather see races treated in a similar fashion to 3E PHB2 classe options - where you have a base class, but with an option you can create a variant or different...

No Macs? Holy crap did WotC do the math wrong!

Sure. But of the groups I've been a member of, I'm the only Mac user that I'm aware of. In my primary group, I'm the DM more often than not. Of all the group, I'm the one most interested in 4E (because my 3.5 cleric/wizard doesn't really work). Not being able to run the DDI applications at...

D&D 4E Is 4E the designers homebrew coming to my gaming table?

The problem here is the "Is this new coke?" scenario. The designers and developers love the taste, as do a percentage of the market hearing about the addition of real sugar (as opposed to the corn syrup from before) and the use of grape juice as a flavoring. But... until you release the...

    Eladrin

No, I don't like the change, and don't understand the reasoning behind it. I'm also concerned that when we see the 4E books, the Eladrin will feel very much like they've taken the earlier ideas of 'grey elf'/'high elf'/'moon elf'/'sun elf' and simply changed the name ala the rename of demons...

It's already jumped and been eaten by the Shark hasn't it?

    Fate worse than death?

When this happened to my group I think it somewhat derailed our game. We played on, but a lot of the fun we'd had previously went out of the game that night. Talking over the event with the GM later, most of us conveyed a lack of understanding as to what had been happening - the ritual seemed...

Is the Warlock going to kill the sorcerer and take his stuff?

Any spikes though have already been claimed by the 4E Dragons.
