D&D 4E Is 4E winning you or losing you?

There's still months until we hear or see anything more definite that the blog posts of the day which feel like: We've changed this (cool!) we've changed that (why?) we've changed this as well (uh, that's not my D&D anymore) and we're thinking of changing this (cool!) and so on. It's a roller...

Which implementation of wizards' implements do you prefer?

I read 'golden wyvern' and immediately start to think of gold wizards (Warhammer Fantasy).

No Macs? Holy crap did WotC do the math wrong!

I would imagine that most of those people who run more than one OS are Mac and Linux users who also run windows - but only when they must. I'm a Mac user. I've used virtual PC in the past - and even with the new technologies, I'd prefer to stay in the Mac OS and only have to use Windows...

    Challenge Rating Replaced With...What?

I always got the feeling that CR/EL was designed for 3E because of DM misjudgement having had a negative impact on the fun of people playing in earlier versions of the game.

    Homebrews - Who's starting over?

My house setting is system neutral. In designing and planning elements of the setting I've thought both of running 3E, OD&D and WFRP campaigns in the world. So, No.

    D&D 4E My Business Model For 4e

"Hey, Hiya DM buddy! Is it ok to use photocopied feat, item and spell cards in your campaign?" That's your fatal flaw. In the tabletop rpg world, where Wizards can't police what I allow at my table, if I choose to allow photocopied feat, item and spell cards it destroys your collectability...

    D&D 3.x Will 3.5 hurt sales for 4E?

No... but they have stated something about a PHB2, DMG2 and MM2 coming out a year after the PHB, DMG and MM. If we assume an annual cycle of new books (so 2010 would see PHB3, DMG3, and MM3 for 4E), then some may view PHB2/DMG2/MM2 as 4.1, and the year after PHB3/DMG3/MM3 as 4.2 ... And so on...

    The New Core Pantheon

Thor? Hm. I can't help but think of one campaign world that we know features Thor as a deity for a certain Dwarf Cleric. I wonder if Banjo the Clown might make the list..

4th edition PHB is IN MY HANDS! Ask me anything

I hear it has recommended music at the back - a list similar to Gary's list of books in the 1E DMG. Which metal bands has the most songs listed?

How long are your weekly rpg sessions?

Thanks for the responses everyone. Our problem is that due to five different schedules imposing differing limits, our weekly game ends up starting around 7:30, and coming to an end around two hours later at about 9:30. Although we sometimes manage to play longer, than depends on more...

How long are your weekly rpg sessions?

My primary rpg group is currently discussing our scheduling, and discussion elsewhere mentioning a weekly 7 hour session got me wondering what the average duration for a weekly rpg session might be across the EN World community?

Complete Disagreement With Mike on Monsters (see post #205)

Some monsters perhaps, in some games - but not all monsters in all games. We regularly have combats that last several times that length, and the 'monsters' sometimes survive for the whole combat or even after the combat. Different people have differing experiences - and I'd hope that Wizards...

    D&D 5E (2014) When can we expect 5th edition?

Isn't it likely however that there will be a second printing of the core rules, with errata included, which could be viewed as 4.1 ?

Hate for new look for Green Dragon

I don't care for the nose spike. Personally, this is what I prefer my green dragons to look like: http://www.acaeum.com/ddindexes/setpages/setscans/basic8th.html

D&D 4E Has the 4E Announcement Changed Your Buying Plans?

Yes. It won't affect my planned purchase of Expedition to the Ruins of Castle Greyhawk. However, my possible purchase of various books that I've been putting off buying (Complete Champion, Complete Scoundrel, Complete Mage, various Eberron books, MMIV and MMV) are now much less likely.

D&D Game Table not Mac-Compatible at launch

That's much my thinking as well. Given the opportunity lost in not selecting an option that would allow capture of the Mac, Linux and other markets I'm disappointed both for myself and for Wizards.

There will be many of them. And they have a plan.
