D&D 5E (2014) What to do when Pc's die? What then for that player?

Well, having new PCs come into play on par with the other is fine when you're playing an AP-like campaign, which is usually tuned for a definite range of char levels. If on the other hand you're playing your own campaign, without a set pace, I'd go with new PCs coming into play at least a...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Gateway Crisis Campaign

Seems inspired, let us know how it unfolds. Just a quick note, if your like: thread with caution with Ravenloft and Athas/Dark Sun; they're born as almost inescapable hostile places, so you will probably take this into account. Anyway, I think you'll have fun! [emoji6]

    New News Page Layout

The new layout is much neater and clearer, and appears very ordered. As you have already pointed out, though, it removes some "immediacy": before I could read all that I missed since my last visit and read it directly on the main page, while now I have to open the pages one by one; not much...

D&D 5E (2014) If you aren't buying magic items, where will you spend your gold?

Well, since it appears that the DMG already has a guide on the value of the magical items based on their rarity, I think it's feasible to refer to that. This should be the cost to make one: Common item - 100 gold Uncommon item - 500 gold Rare item - 5,000 gold Very rare item - 50,000 gold...

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG Preview: The Multiverse

I was just referring to what you said about this being the first time you've heard the word "torus", sorry... Without resorting to arguments bordering towards the off-topic, let's say that the main differences between walking on a torus and on a ring are similar to the ones that differentiate...

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG Preview: The Multiverse

Sorry for the late answer, but differing timezones can be annoying...as I've seen, many people have clarified what I was trying to convey: Sigil was described akin to a tire laying on its side, the tire "shoulders" are what I was referring to, i.e.: the building on either side...and you're...

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG Preview: The Multiverse

A more common nane for the torus is "donut", BTW [emoji6]

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG Preview: The Multiverse

Your shouldn't go sideways in fact: Sigil is built so that the buildings on either side have no windows facing "outward".

    D&D 5E (2014) What is the logic behind one 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th level spell?

Speaking for me, I'd go with "lacking in enemies" ;)

    D&D 5E (2014) What is the logic behind one 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th level spell?

Well, the rules hold for both the PCs and the villains, and they're likely to threaten villages [emoji6]

D&D 5E (2014) What Campaign Setting(s) Do You Want To See in 5E?

Thank you for your reply, to which I agree: you've put in different and probably more understandable words what I was trying to say. Just a quick note on your last sentence: I'm with you in that WotC wants to sell, though I'm not sure what the margins could be in "publishing new books" vs...

D&D 5E (2014) A wizard with a "Boots of Elvenkind" using inivisibility spell

DUH! From the OP I guess (at least, that's where I got them...)

D&D 5E (2014) What Campaign Setting(s) Do You Want To See in 5E?

As this thread goes on, I'm wondering about the actual meaning of "5E version of a setting". What I mean is, speaking as a big Planescape fan, that yes, I'd love so much PS support in 5E but...what would that mean? A reprint of the original material, updated for the new edition but otherwise...

D&D 5E (2014) A wizard with a "Boots of Elvenkind" using inivisibility spell

Well, invisible people still have mass so they displace things (eg.: drapes, cobwebs and yes, powder and dirt on the flooring). If I expected invisible people around (and that's a BIG if, but it really depends on the situation) I'd spill at least some flour on the ground; Elven Boots just...

D&D 5E (2014) Is every Official Adventure Going to be about Saving the World?

Well, back in BECMI there were the CMx adventures, which (starting with CM1 - Test of the Warlords) could be strung toghether toward something decidedly epic: founding a domain and nurturing it. Of course it's less of a "path" in that it allows more sandbox play than railroad, but it can...

    D&D 5E (2014) Building a Druid Grove?

This is exactly what I was thinking, put down brilliantly...replicate Lair/Regional Effects for a neat feeling, just check with the DM about the balancing: I'd go mainly with fluffy effects at the start, going upwards based on the Dryad and the Druid levels, and maybe based also on apprentice...

D&D 5E (2014) What Campaign Setting(s) Do You Want To See in 5E?

Especially since it's easy to forget that, but Mystara (aka The Known World back then) was THE setting for BECMI

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG Excerpt: Wonderous Items

Yes, the "ability score increase" issue is the same for me...but if it's a no, I fail to see much use for the suffix "of Health": ok for the CON saves, but more HP (albeit temporary) are much more "healthy" ;)
