    [November] What are you reading?

After finished reading A Dance with Dragons and Grave Peril of the Dresden Files. I am reading A Difference Engine by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling. The language in Difference Engine is slowing down my reading, but I like it so far.

    [November] What are you watching?

I watch too much TV, but I never seem to remember when/where to watch regularly scheduled shows. I usually watch Big Bang Theory, That 70's Show, NCIS, and Simpsons in syndication/reruns. Most I regular shows I do end up watching are on USA. I like Psych, In Plain Sight, and Royal Pains. I do...

    Happy Thanksgiving to me!

11 November was formerly known as Armistice Day, a holiday to celebrate the Armistice of the Great War (known to us as World War I). I'd have to cheat (google) to get more detail.

    Happy Thanksgiving to me!

Any other interesting Canadian holidays that I should know about? As Thunderfoot notes, it is normal to have Halloween decorations and Christmas display up at the same time. I say we save each the other the heartache and just mash them all together.;) Who's with me? *crickets*

    Happy Thanksgiving to me!

I feel confident saying most Americans do not get Columbus Day off. The day after Thanksgiving is more or less standard, I think. Black Friday is a huge shopping day in the U.S., no doubt. How do most Canadians spend their Holiday?

    IPhone 4s = overanticipated

Correct. I try to explain why 802.11n won't make your Internet faster--the LAN is faster but the WAN remains the same speed. I get confused stares, even among tech professionals. It takes a bit of work to explain why "bigger isn't better".

Steve Jobs has passed away :(

Thank you Mr. Jobs for popularizing the home computer and trying to make things easy. While I never completely got the Apple computer bug, I do like the iPod. Further, thanks for bringing Pixar movies to the world.

    Fallout: Nuka Break

Not bad. The VATS at the end was a nice touch. I saw that they were paid in actual bottle caps. I haven't played the first two Fallouts, but my understanding is that the bottle caps are an older monetary standard. The new bottle caps are minted. The hammy acting could use some work. I didn't...

In Soviet Russia... Why I am hearing, "Product is you." I am pretty sure nobody wants to see me do the Macarena. In exchange, here are the Animaniacs (including ""Hellooooooo, Nurse!"") doing the Macarena: animaniacs macarena - YouTube

    A Quick D&D Primer

Bravo! Should this be a permanent fixture on the site? I know many websites have an About page. I never tried looking for one here. FAQ could also work. Of course I wonder if the same people that wondered about Pathfinder would know what FAQ stands for.

Congrats to Peter Dinklage for his Emmy win!

Huzzah! I look forward to seeing his performance on DVD (when it comes out). Even if his eyes are the wrong colors ;) Here is the acceptance speech: Peter Dinklage: Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series - YouTube

    Why isn't this an RPG?

Sony is apparently making such a film; Grayskull: Masters of the Universe. No timeline has been established, though. Come on Sony Pictures. The world is dying to see a giant green cat, complete with helmet, on the big screen ;)

Next year, I'm back to running AD&D

"I think I love you. So what am I so afraid of? I'm afraid that I'm not sure of, A love there is no cure for." David Cassidy LOL I adore AD&D, if nothing else for the pure nostalgia factor. A couple of factors keep me from running an AD&D game, namely: 1) Lack of good adventuring...

    Dear SyFy

The premise sounds interesting, Danny. If you were behind the helm at the network it would be awesome. However, I feel that concept, with the current management, would be dragged through the mud, shot, and then stuffed in a body bag somewhere. However, Urban Fantasy I could get behind. I have...

    Help - New Blinding look?

I actually like the new white background. I think some of the reaction can stemmed from "change is bad". Also most corporate websites have white backgrounds, so having a black background is a bit of a hobbyist or anti-corporate message (En World is very much the former, not as much as the...

    Captain America: The First Avenger

Excellent movie. Hugo Weaving is awesome as usual, but one of the few movies where I don't picture him saying, "Mr. Anderson..." while wearing black sunglasses. I did have one nitpick, however. When was captured However, despite all the time spent they never reference it later or...

    My dream -- holy crap!

Your dream obviously created an alternate dimension where this game exists. So welcome to this dimension. You are obviously a very nice man(?) and wouldn't harm anyone.

Any love for the Scarred Lands?

Scarred Lands (Scarn) had some really cool ideas in it. The implementation of those could be hit/miss, however. I think the biggest mistake was the Ghelspad book. Ghelspad should have been the setting bible essentially, but you needed at least Divine & Defeated, GM Screen (for settings races)...
