RANT: Architects & Contractors: Stop building dumb bathrooms!

I have seen plenty of dumb bathrooms. The one I remember was hotel room bathroom with the mirror on the wall behind the toilet. I remarked to a friend, "It must have been designed by a woman." As a similar incident, at work the other day, I noticed the pristine tile on the wall above the urinal...

    What are you thankful for?

I'm a bit late to the party, but: My family, my mother especially; she's my rock. My new job. I was out-of-work for so many months. Granted this was self-inflicted, but still; it feel so good to work, be needed, and valued again. Fantasy, or most good fiction in general, for giving us worlds...

Working fine here. I love the classic styling for the "red box" starter set.

Our Game Store Just Got A Drive-Through Window

Wow. Glad no one was hurt. I hope insurance covers most of the property damage from the shop. I hate to see good game shops go out of business. It does seem unusual for a sedan to jump a curb, though. You frequently see trucks and SUVs jump curbs, but they are much higher off the ground.

    Tacos

I definitely dig the hard shell taco, assuming it's done correctly. The worst hard shell taco is the one with very bland meat and cheese (ground beef, salt and pepper only, with American style cheddar). I'm a gringo, I admit it, but I enjoy my tacos with some kick, damnit. When having crisp...

    Tacos

Yum, taco salad. Taco Time has an excellent taco salad (I enjoy the chicken most of all). I will have to find a replacement in southeast Arizona.

    Tacos

Mmm. We have such good tacos places in the American Southwest. Carne Asada with Pico de Gallo in a supersoft corn tortilla, awesome.

    website design

That's a tough question. I'm guessing this is going to be a brochure style site - where you change it once and never touch it again. If that's the case, FrontPage or pretty much anything else will be fine. If your friend has products that change or season specials, I have a preference for some...

I need some computer (PC) help please!

Simple stuff first: (Windows XP) What program is using up your juice? Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Click Task Manager. Click Processes. Now click CPU twice. The program that uses most of your resources should be listed. Firefox script issues are puzzling. First I would use the safe mode to disable...

How far are we from colonizing off Earth?

Would I survive in a post apocalyptic environment? I am going to say no. Sad--and slightly depressing--to say so. My only appreciable skill is computers and fixing them. That skill would not very useful in a eat-or-be-eaten environment. My glasses and allergies would probably be a...

[Humor] How to make Garfield funny

Garfield has never been laugh-out-loud funny. Garfield is usually entertaining in very small doses. For comics, I usually read Baldo, Dilbert, Luann, and Pearls Before Swine daily.

    [August] What are you reading?

Arthur by Stephen R. Lawhead Taliesin started out great but things changed mid-book. I skipped ahead to book 3, Arthur. It's okay; I am not sure if I'm liking the pseudo-history and myth as much as I thought I would though. I am not sure why. CompTIA Security+: Get Certified Get Ahead: SY0-201...

    Becoming a Teacher

I think it's awesome that you are a teacher. You can make such a positive difference in a student's life. I especially like that you are well qualified to teach these courses. I had teachers that would give out work to do and leave for the remainder of class. Or would rapidly go through math...

    Is Greyhawk Relevant?

I really don't know much about Greyhawk. I own a PDF copy of Temple of Elemental Evil and I have read awesome reviews about the early D&D modules set in Greyhawk (and some not so great reviews). I think Erik Mona and crew did a great job of adding the Dungeon adventure paths to GH. In the end...

    Google: UI Going Downhill

That's strange I never noticed, probably because I almost never type "youtube.com". I mostly see youtube videos embedded on other sites or quickly play a video when someone links to it. It looks like Google is experimenting again; maybe Doug Bowman shouldn't have left ;) To those that do like...
