Ah, the stupid things PCs do...

Excellent Nightmare Fuel. Did that unhinge anyone else?

    Bloodthirsty PC's

Then some players go from D&D run by a DM who only awards XP for killing to a game such as Traveller or Cyberpunk or some contemporary setting, where laws abound and the aim of the game is not necessarily to exterminate anyone you perceive to be in your way and they attempt to deal with...

    Girls (Females) in D&D/Roleplaying

1 - would be 2 but the other one interested in playing isn't free on the night that everyone else is. Don't know if I can do a percentage - I've lost track of how many blokes I've shared the hobby with. I've had two female DMs and played alongside more than 10 women in various games...

Ah, the stupid things PCs do...

Player stupidity abounds and I'm hard-pressed to think of which is the most stupid I've witnessed. However, the OP was about CoC and that reminds me of a CoC game in which a female player wowed the GM by deciding that her character was going to stand up on a table in the library of 1920s...

    Insults!

"I would call thee an addle-pated, verminous, hirsute, pox-faced slubbertigullion but I fear such words would be incomprehensible to thee - so I must resort to calling you a dickhead." My brother once sent me this in a birthday card - much to the annoyance of our mother when she read the last...

A New Superhero Discovering Their Powers

How complex are the objects he can form? Simple solids of basic shapes or complex mechanisms made from a number of different materials including alloys, compounds, mixtures etc. What about molecular velocity - the difference between a hot object and a cold one. This then begs the question of...

    Bloodthirsty PC's

kick in the door and kill everything is indeed a valid style of play and some GMs and players love it. I've played in more than a few of those and had a ball of a time. Great stuff for clearing vast amounts of monsters out of dungeons - not such a great strategy in town. In my own games...

    Bloodthirsty PC's

I specifically told my players when they started my game that it was not going to be a hack-n-slash fest and that there were generally more ways to get things done than by goin' in guns a-blazin'. I also told them that there are no "goodies" and "baddies" outside of people's own personal...

Taking dice away from the players

I run a mixture of roleplaying vs dice rolls - if the players roleplay their characters well enough (and I have a good enough idea of the motivations of the NPCs), various interaction dice rolls can be omitted and we just get into the story, the players interact, deal, convince, fast-talk etc...

Real World Alchemist Class - Forked from: History, Mythology, Art and RPG's

The whole Earth, Air, Water and Fire concept was lifted from Hermetic Magic IIRC. Alchemists sought to combine all those things together to achieve their desired results - taking all solids to be "Earth", all gasses "Air", all liquids "Water" - and using heat "Fire". Came up with some...

    Problem Player Woes

Can't give you any more XP at the mo', but really glad a good mutual decision was worked out between all parties and seems to be working well. Here's to great times adventuring.

    History, Mythology, Art and RPGs

That is the trouble with some real-life professions, they don't lend themselves easily to the "roving adventurer" dynamic typical of games - and few people want to play an RPG where your character gets up in the morning, goes to work in the store/lab/mill does his work and then heads home.

    History, Mythology, Art and RPGs

Love it! I look at some of the preconceptions that people have about our "primitive" ancestors and think "no, people weren't that stupid or unobservant back then. Bloody Victorians and their "historical progress" bollox! :D I've got a friend who's into black powder shooting who laments that...

    Vampire Sunlight Protection

According to some stories, the fledgling is "bloodbound" to the "Sire" ("Dam"? "Mistress"?) and cannot rebel against his/her creator's will without a major effort - if it's possible at all. But here's the thing: I'm presuming you are the GM - just tell them that their creator has control over...

Identity Loss (not the "roll for pick pockets" kind)

True, and (like Dausuul), I cut her rather more slack due to her being in an obviously traumatised state than I do for the likes of Chick who's in the business of tearing down people with deliberate falsehoods to push his own agenda. At the time, tho', the last thing we needed was some rabidly...
