D&D 5E (2024) Do you see Fighter players at your own table?

wait what!?!?! did you just say a DM can't rule an action can't be done or auto fails? So the DM has to set a DC to jump to the moon, to fly and to apply the charm condition? SO my rogue with Expertise in Persuasion wants to get past the guard and I say "I want to quick talk and dominate him...

and doing it once is a hugh game changer... lets write more in here from the text "Finally, there is a 33 percent chance that you are unable to cast wish ever again if you suffer this stress." so you need to do something big with it THEN you have to not just rest but keep going (cause that...

D&D 5E (2024) Do you see Fighter players at your own table?

I have friends that have played since before I was born and not 1 of them carried over house rules from TSR era to 5e. I can't think of any 3e ones even. I may be wrong. Funny thing the most common house rules in our games are old 4e things like skill challenges and bloodied

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

I did 92 damage, more then an action surge of the fighter or 2 rounds of the fighter... with something in the the running for dumbest possible use of that slot

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

oh no, not a single spell that can alter all of reality having a down side... how can the poor wizard players coup with a single spell having a down side!?! here is a full list of things you can do without the monkey paw thing: The basic use of this spell is to duplicate any other spell of 8th...

D&D 5E (2024) Do you see Fighter players at your own table?

no there is no mechanic it's just "Make it up" that is almost like saying "Hey I am going to ignore and shout down all these people saying the problem" How is "I can take a mechanic away" the same as "You have to make up a mechanic for it"

D&D 5E (2024) Do you see Fighter players at your own table?

what mechanic... there is no mechanic, there is no advise just "You can figure it out maybe" this isn't even bad DMing, it's DMing the best you can with a system half written really?

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

wish is the biggest baddest abality in the game. It was just me being amazed at you trying to down play a 9th level slot... heck lets really 'waste' a 9th level slot and up cast fireball is that 13 or 14d6? if you get 3 targets and 2 save for half and 1 doesn't with 13d6 that is 13-78 pr...

D&D 5E (2024) Do you see Fighter players at your own table?

or if you try to do things you think is the same and your same DM thinsks is different "because of reasons" it also makes it impossible to compare across tables like say talking on enworld about your game I would say more the lack of mechanic is the problem
