2 feats over 20 levels (1 over 10) action surge and second wind and indomitable. if you are a d8 full caster (bard, cleric, warlock) you are down 1hp per level but 2 at 1st if you are the bladesinger wizard you are d6s so 2hp per level 4 at 1st for 5th level spells at 10th and 9th level spells...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

over a day yea they can... lets go back to my last example. 9th level wizard with 3/3/3/3/1 gonna give them 1 damage spell of each level, burning hands, scorching ray, fireball, wall of fire and cone of cold (one of these doesn't look the same) I will NOT take a d12 or d10 cantrip for damage I...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

that is correct that is where you are missing the point. The fighter NEEDs the magic items the wizards just get a buff from them DOes the 9th level wizard with 3/3/3/3/1 need more spells no. no they do not. in a given 6 encounter day where the average is 3 rounds per encounter you have 18...

this is why I think we need a new extra class for those of us that want to play that concept without having to play "brain dead"

no I want to kill the demons devils and demigods and titans and great wyrm dragons with a legendary warrior that can do amazing things that no normal person ever could... that just means a hexblade, a sword bard ect ect not a fighter

D&D 5E (2014) What houserules do we assume is common in the community?

worse it does more damage to people who make more attacks. in spells this makes eldritch blast crit fail many times more then flame bolt in weapons a fighter at level 11 who is the pinicale of his trade in warcraft makes 3 attacks per round and action surges 2 or 3 times a day... so in a 6...

i will stand with you... you can have may axe (but only if we refluff hexblade so I don't have to be a fighter)

except the "throw antimagic" wasn't just a monster thing. It has to be used in exploration and social too or else the casters take over there too, and there is NO equivalent

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

If when I DM I need to look and build in 5-10 anti magic things that is not the same as half or more the monsters in the book being immune or resistant to non magical damage

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

except several of those items give them more spells when the excuse is they have limited use. If the excuse to allow a 5th level wizard to throw a fireball twice is "He can only do it twice" and at 9th level she can "only do it 3 or 4 times" getting a staff or wand that lets them do that 5 times...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

how about giving options where the fighter can choose at level up to have something akin to a 5th level spell 1/day instead of indomitable 1/day?

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

Nobody that I have seen has suggested every monk and every fighter and ever fill in the blank new class should have instant win buttons all the time in every situation. Like a wizard (most likely more like a warlock) you would at level up make choices and take A or B not get everyting A-z okay...

less then half is "a significant number" but more then 1/3 is "small but vocal" they are a rounding error apart

The funny part is they take the Bard, they take away the spells, and still have it be on par with fighter and rogue. i have heard, but not tried it yet, that it is perfectly balanced, so then how can you add full caster and still have it be balanced??
