Has anyone sold their 3e books yet?

I gave my Core books to a friend a couple of months ago. I am not running any game right now and they were too expensive to him, who actually wanted to run his own game. As a matter of fact, I am preparing myself to make the upcoming Will saving thrown and pass on buying the new books and wait...

Jack Vance - What to Read

The Dying Earth and Eyes of the Overworld were the source of the magic system as well as the 1ed thief class, which is much more like Cugel, a character from Eyes than Leiber's Gray Mouser, who is frequently cited. The remaining books of the Dying Earth series were written after the release of...

Looking for new fantasy RPG - story & roleplay oriented !

GURPS Discworld contains all rules necessary to play it. You don't need to buy additional GURPS books. However, if you're looking for a less serious setting, I would recomend The Dying Earth Roleplaying game. It's an easy to play game based in the novels of the same name by Jack Vance. Dungeons...

Yes, I'm still confused by Oriental Adventures

You got it right. I am playing WoT and I think this rule sucks. At least, the intial feat could give some very limited advantage to incentive players to take it.

Yes, I'm still confused by Oriental Adventures

Mark, Are you looking for additional conversion notes to d20, a new independent d20 book, or an d20 supplement to Oriental Adventures?

Looking for new fantasy RPG - story & roleplay oriented !

Shadowlord, your post is screaming for Pendragon. The game have an elegant design that incentives roleplaying and character building, and good combat rules. There aren't many supplements and you can use the main book exclusively. In the down side, there isn't much magic, as it is an Arthurian...

    Opinions sought on WoT RPG

I started playing it last week. So far, it has been a great experience. Although I am the only player who read the books, all others became interested and asked me to borrow the books to read. As far as I can see, the system works well, although I disagree in some design choices, especially...

    Rules Enforcement Poll

I usually enforces the rules. However, I don't even worry about them when I need plot devices. Also, although I clearly state house rules in the begining, I often have to make some new ruling during actual play, when needed. Once the new ruling is applied, it is good for both sides -- at least...

    3.5 Backwards compatibility

So a 30 ft. anaconda will need a 6x6 square to represent it? I don't think so. I agree with Psion that this is a poor move to help selling minis. However, this is the only thing that come to my mind that I actually dislike about 3.5.

Rapier wielder, what feats, books, would you recommend?

Weapon finesse is a must if you really want the D&D rapier to behave as a rapier. Other than that, I would recommend improved critical, although it may take sometime to your character achieve the minimum BAB.

    My gripe about 3.5e

Paragon, perhaps you should wait till Wizards post its conversion document and them evaluate which of the 3.0 products are worthy of buying and upgrading yourself. Think of it as an errata.

    3.5 Backwards compatibility

The upcomming 3.5 will consist of a new edition of D&D, perhaps they will not include a big revision, but still it will be a new edition (despite of what they are calling it). What's the problem about it? Star Wars was revised in even lesser time. It is obvious that Wizards is trying to make...

    RttToEE too easy

While playing RtToEE, my first character died at the mill. That's the first kia in the party and was the result of another player's mistake (never leave the mage -- me -- unscorted in a melee). Later on, I've lost two other characters and the party graveyard consisted of a total of eight...

    3.5 Dungeon 100 info

I really liked the stat buff time reduction. I played before by the book and I think it spoiled the game. Players were spending a lot of time deciding what spells to place in the party hours before any combat activity in order to maximize the number of spells in each party member. As a lot of...

    Swashbuckling Movie Suggestions?

I second Scaramouch, which sports the longest sword duel in cinema. A great movie in all accounts. I just brought The Duelists' DVD, the first feature by Riddley Scoot starring Harvey Keitel and Keith Carridine as two duelling addicted Napoleon's officers. It is not a real swashbucking movie but...

What upcoming summer d20 products are you looking forward to?

I cheked for Warcraft, Skull & Bones, and "other" to take Green Ronin's Mindshadows in account. Although I will only pick Mindshadows if it includes all rules (except for the three core books) necessary to play.

    Chainmail. Played it. Liked it.

Last year I was playing a game that relied heavily in counters of a squared grid with map features plotted over. As the campaign (Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil) resumed to a very large Dungeon Crawl, I seriously suggested that we moved to Chainmail rules, which I believe would speed up...

Would the potions be able to do the expected effect in a much more massive body?:)

    3.5 bundle?

As a matter of fact, I will wait till October to buy this set, instead of aquiring the books separately in July.

Second edition page layout. Was it better than the current one?

My basic point is that 2E layout was not intrusive in the reading. The art used in 3E is top quality, but it is hard to follow the text, not only because it is not clearly apart of it, but also because of the faded horizontal lines and the awful margins (man those margins are really bad)...
