    What is Ptolus?

I may be asking a really stupid question, but what in the world is Ptolus? From what I have been able to pick up off the various message boards I'm on, it seems to be a large setting book of some sort that takes place in a city. Does anyone have any links to reviews on EN World or anywhere...

Do You Prefer to Play a Human PC When RPGing?

Of the character's I've played in D&D 3.0/3.5 I don't think I have played a human. My first was a Half-Orc Barbarian, then there was The Elf Fighter, and right now I'm itchin' to play a Warforged Artificer in an Eberron game. Just my 1/4 pound. Mr. Beef

Characters for Mr. Beef's Fiction (Update for 12/29/06)

Hi everybody! Mr. Beef here, and I have decided to put up the stats for one of the charcaters in my Dungeons and Dragons stories that I am writing. I'm using a made up setting thought up by me, and I'm in the process of getting things together like races, classes, PrC's and other important...

The Hive is (realy) Dead! Long Live the Hive Mind!

ROTFL. 100% ROTFL. I have not seen Princess Bride in years and with that quote all the good memories of the movie just popped into my head at once. I can hear Billy Crystal's character saying that. Princess Bride had one of my favorite Professional Wrestler's in it, Andre the Giant. Who I...

The Hive is (realy) Dead! Long Live the Hive Mind!

Generally the sugar free stuff costs a lot more than the sugared stuff. I'll take the cost of the sugared stuff and just use less then paying more for the sugar free, and use more of it. Like I said it's only once in a while so I really don't worry about it. Just my 1/4 pound. Mr. Beef

The Hive is (realy) Dead! Long Live the Hive Mind!

I will occasionally but not too often. I have Type 2 Diabetes and the jelly is loaded with sugar which is bad for me. I do it mostly for a treat maybe once every two weeks. Just my 1/4 pound. Mr. Beef

The Hive is (realy) Dead! Long Live the Hive Mind!

It looks like a ghost in a long white dress in a sombrero. I know I'm right about the hate at least. Just my 1/4 pound. Mr. Beef

    New paperback novel size . . .

The novella is a good size for those of us that don't want to invest time in a 300+ page novel. I know I like shorter stories because the author is made to condense their story into a more useable size, and not use flowery language or massive discriptions of characters and scenes. I've never...

The Hive is (realy) Dead! Long Live the Hive Mind!

Twi things can prevent the Flu. 1. During cold and Flu season move to your own private island in the middle of the Pacific for five months. Kind of expensive, but once you get shelter there you can go pretty much any time you want to live. Maybe you'll even get some of the cast of Lost to rent...

The Hive is (realy) Dead! Long Live the Hive Mind!

I was up before this was posted so turn off the yelling and size. Yeesh. I had my hands on some kitty not snakey. The house I'm house sitting at right now has a cat and two Canary's. The cat was in bed with me.

Updated Dungeons & Dragons animated series

I tried watching Samurai Jack and found it totally unwatchable. It hurt my brain, but that just my opinion. I just did not like the style of the animation. It just rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe I'm suffering from the Disney Effect. Animation that is produced by a large company looks a lot...

    DVD Prices (For Television)

I find some TV series to be pretty reasonable on DVD, but I just cannot justify dropping $80 more or less for 13 episodes of a show on DVD from HBO. (I'm only using HBO as an example because they seem to have the highest prices for their seasons, and there's nothing I watch on HBO any more. I...

The Hive is (realy) Dead! Long Live the Hive Mind!

How do you get kicked out of a Toys R Us? Doing naughty things with the stuffed animals? Stealing from other peoples carts? Pestering employees until they give you the hot toy of the season? I could go on, but those are the top 3 I can think of that would probably get you kicked out of a...

What am I watching on TV today? (Dec 2006)

Stuff Mr. Beef is watching. I'm not watching all that much television right now because I don't have cable or satellite where I'm house sitting, but when I get to go home and watch some television here's what I watch. Dr. Who I like rose as his assistant because it's about time he had someone...

D&D Cartoon - We have a release date in the US!

I got it mostly because I wanted Eric the Ranger's bow when I started playing 3.0/3.5 D&D. I had to wait about 5 years for it. I would have made my own and gotten DM approval, but I really am the last person you want making magic items. They are either overpowered and too cheap or under powered...

(Rant) Sorrow, thy name is UPS!

I used to work for UPS (only one week though because the hours were terrible) and found that they generally ignore all labels unless it mentions something is heavy and then you might get two employees to lift the box, but that was never the case when I was there. Lucky for me I was weight...

    Worst Public Restroom

An Albertsons grocery store not too far from where I live had the worst smelling public restroom I have ever been in. It smelled like sweaty feet, urine, and poop all rolled into one. They tried everything to mask or get rid of the smell, but nothing worked. I use the word had because the store...

How Do You Deal With Splatbooks?

I voted for the third choice, although I would easily allow the second choice as well. I just find some of the 3rd party PrC's either not good enough, or too overpowered for for my tastes. Granted some of the WotC PrC's are no better than the third party stuff power wise. Most of the stuff...

What did you (or would you!) name your kids, and why?

Some thoughts I had I don't have a wife yet, but I'm hoping too soon. I really do not want kids, but if she does and can use her femine wiles to win me over, then here are some names I would give our children: Boys: Large Richard (I'm a pretty big guy, hince the Large and, and Richard is...
