If it is just a role playing issue for you, then instead of them actually wearing leather, maybe say the feat is in reality a special ritual they know that casts a permanent armor spell on their regular clothing that grants the same bonus. then they get the benefits, but can still keep the look...

you might also consider Initiate of the faith if the paladin is to be the parties primary healer. Multiclassing to cleric could really help in that respect

I have seen discussion in other threads about this, when you already have the skill you get by multi-classing. I think the consensus there was you should get a skill focus in that skill. but your game might find another solution better of course :)

also keep in mind that yes you get 6 feats in heroic play, but you also get stat bumps at level 4 and level 8. so you don't have to start out qualifying for all those feats at level 1. true you are likely to want to bump up your prime stat with each bump, but it still gives you a few more...

another saving throw question. dwarven racial abilities give them a "+5 save vs poison" is this only against ongoing poison effects? they also get a "saving throw" to avoid being knocked prone. how does that work?
