You're not alone...I prefer to play with people I know, not get to know the people with whom I play. I'm sure they're not all creepy and many are quite nice... ;) But I just can't be comfortable role-playing in a room full of strangers...

I suggest a secret lair...pref. at the base of a volcano. Perhaps you could get some inept henchmen/women (don't want to leave anyone out ;)) to guard the entrance? But seriously...I'm always a big fan of tables at which you can game...ie-kitchen table, instead of a lower surface like a coffee...
