Is necromancy evil or only as harmless as talking to your dead grandmother?

for my games, what happens to the soul determines good or evil. what happens to the body after departure of the soul is not important, whether used as wormfood (buried) or raised as a mindless (=soulless) undead. the soul has departed to the planes to receive its just reward. creating an...

OMG Help I Have 9 Players!

if you do decide to run with the entire group, ask for one of the players to be your co-DM. that way, you cut out 1 PC, and the extra DM makes things flow just a little smoother.

    Can we eat that?

corporeal undead are probably edible, provided the flesh is fresh enough. I've had at least one evil dictator raise a cooked centaur so it could serve its own meat to the party-goers. also, I once had a paladin who ate halfling (when you see some orcs roasting meat over a fire, carefully examine...

D&D 3.x Help me create "Fantasy Sherlock Holmes" in 3.5

I'd go with a rogue with high int. as for a weapon: sherlock holmes always carried a swordcane so that would be the weapon of choice.

I need a nice, heavy light blade ;)

use rapier statistics. call it a sabre.

    Campaign themed dinner (drow)

seems to me meat would be in short supply in an underground setting. fish or shellfish however are fairly common in underground lakes. sentient races are probably more valuable as slaves than as food.

    Battle standard on a wagon

I would rule the standard is considered 'planted' as long as it remains stationary relative to the battle field. if the battlefield is a ship: no problem. if you plant it on your cart: no problem... as long as the cart remains stationary. you could even plant it in an earth genasi, if it stays...

    Alternatives to Dungeon Tiles?

I use a flip-over block. it's much like the gaming paper, and available in most office stores.

Save end effects at the end of the turn

this. rolling saves is still part of your turn. after rolling saves, your turn ends and you suffer the effect.

    Paragon Path: Amok Destroyer

first thing I noticed: sudden growth and amok action should not stack. I would change amok action and keep sudden growth (it's already an encounter power, so you can grow in each encounter anyway). some ideas for amok action: -when you spend an action point, you can make a basic melee attack...

Mystic Chef: Is this paragon path balanced?

I don't think fortifiation is too strong. it'll heal less than a healing word, so will not add anything if the character is a cleric or warlord (or other leader with a healing word type power). instead of the extra healing, maybe grant an extra endurance check against disease with a small bonus?

    Bacon of Hope

consuming Bacon of Hope bestows Divine Flavour. Monsters with the Swallow Whole ability seek you out in combat in preference to normal tasting characters.

    Overcomin the SR of Psuedonaturals...

if you're a full spellcaster at epic level, invest in a cloud of orange prism ioun stones. they give a nameless +1 bonus to CL for a (for epic characters) low cost of 30k each.

Giving out XP based on amount of damage sustained?

ground zero fireball FTW! even better: catch as many partymembers in your fireball as possible! yay xp!

    Race Elimination "Semi-final"

elves lack flavour. this is why there's sun elves, moon elves, star elves, sea elves, dark elves, wood elves, high elves, etcetera. this is why elves must go.

    Low wealth and mysterious magic

as a DM, don't give the players a longsword +2. Give them 'Bloodstrike', the sword of the famous warrior Warrax. (which happens to act exactly like a longsword +2)

    Traveler’s Harlequin (Dragon 382)

Dragonborn are just oversized kobolds, so you may want to look at the their PP for inspiration.

How many ways can I make my spells harder to dispel?

the orange ioun stone may be expensive, but it's slotless, and provides an unnamed bonus to CL. You can use several at once by RAW (which I consider broken, but that's another story)

    Wizard retraining problem

if you have enough dailies, wizards can already do this with their spellbook class feature. just pick the dailies you want to use for the day from the dailies you know.
