    . . . while you're at it. . . Fix heavy armor!

Damned imperial/american units ^^ I have to stop reading and make calculations all the time :p Anyway, if you're gaining penalties from encumbrance anyway, why have a special penalty from armours? Why not use the same penalties?

D&D 4E The 4e Mystery Race is going to be...

Personally I like dwarfs, always play them... but all the folks I game with play humans, almost exclusively, due to the bonus feat (die, bonus feat!)... Anyway, the mystery race: Hobgoblins or Orcs is what I'd like, and Hobgoblins seem the more likely of those two

"Ten for That? You Must be Mad!"

Saga has haggled rolled into persuasion (basically intimidate + diplomacy)... So haggling might be included in a skill in 4e. Streetwise sounds like a good bet, so does persuasion (if there is such a skill)

    A...SUPPOSITION!...regarding Goblins!

As said, MM will include an appendix on using "monster races" as player races... Hopefully this'll include orc, goblin, giant and hobgoblins...

    Warlords Heal?

Yeah, hp as an abstract measure for stamina and luck works fine, and it would make warlord healing "inspirational boost" rather than actual healing... I have my concerns with the Hp system (such as a rogue sticking his dagger in a totally unaware guard, who survives), but most of the time it...

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

I thought this had been rather clear, leaders are healers/buffers/support-fighters... sort of like the cleric of 3,5; but hopefully a bit more balanced and more interesting..

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

But if monster also "suck equally", there would be no problem, would there? :D It would just a power-down from the previous edition you could say.. (Not saying I want this, but the point is valid)

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

Yeah, there's an excellent argument :uhoh: Anyway, I for one certainly hope that each class can choose between different abilities, based on the talents they want to have.. So basically, if the Warlord wants to be SAD he could max his charisma and be a darned good leader... but he wouldn't be...

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

I certainly believe he is, and actually he does have a point.. You can't say that a fighter is ineffective cause he needs 4 stats when everybody needs 4 stats... weak compared to what? 3e?

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

This was said by a guy at wizard forums: Classes should not be SAD nor MAD, they should be MEB (multiple effective builds); meaning that a fighter could benefit from charisma, intelligence, wisdom, whathaveyou, depending on his talent choices. Edit: If talents or similar is the thing for 4e...

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

No, I think that rather they are going in the opposite direction; getting rid of single-ability dependent classes.. At least I hope so. If all classes are MAD, then MAD is no longer a problem for an individual class... And it creates a decision for the player; "do I emphasise on my tactical...

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

If you can infact buy talents from other classes, it would seem that a talent in any class is equally worth. In that case, the base chassis of the wizard class must in fact be equal to that of a fighter or a rogue.. what he loses in HD and skills he regains in something else... but what?

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

Emphasise mine ;) So yeah, he is multiclass, in some sort of hidden/mystic 4e way we do not yet know.. But he has no actual levels in wizard

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

Yeah, that sounds weird :/ And one would think humans would be the once to multiclass best... Agreed, that is really sad. This seems likely yes, and I for one salute the idea :)

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

That is very much like a manoeuvre from Tome of Battle... White Raven, can't remember the name though... Flanking manoeuvre, is that it? Anyway, it also reminds of the power that a warlord in one of the playtest articles used once... something like "used tactical acumen to grant ?? an immediate...

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

The interesting bit would be that he mentions wizard powers without actually having levels of wizard... Sadly for me, this also confirms that armour is still AC in 4e, which I must say is the first confirmation I really don't care for.

    D&D 4E What's Wrong With 4e Simply Put

Couldn't care less. YES!! Yess!!! Love it. Would have preferred high elfs as a name though. I love ToB, so anything derived from it is positive. Depends on which monsters. I'd rather see Orc or Goblin. See reshuffling demons and devils Depends on what they change it to.
