    Help me pick a leader

I second the archer warlord suggestion. The party already has two melee characters who can both dish out lots of damage. Add some ranged support and healing and you've got a very good support character. And as previously said, with warlord you can focus on powers that allow the other guys to...

Thrown Weapon Seeker with nothing to throw...

Twin Strike with thrown weapons would be Dex-based, which doesn't really mesh well with the Spiritbond Seeker build. Throwing-based Seekers are probably better off with Throw and Stab. In general the Marauder style Ranger options synergize better. But really, I think the issue with Seekers is...

    May Daggermaster Nerf Rumour

Just to provide an example, I've got three level 5 characters who've been around for quite a while (play has been slow) and the only errata that's affected them noticably has been the latest, which improved Infernal Wrath. Everything else has been either errata to things no character uses, or...

Thrown Weapon Seeker with nothing to throw...

Melee rogues really only have two choices for a weapon, too (dagger, shortsword), and people didn't complain too much about that. Yeah, there were a few that bemoaned the loss of mace/sap or whatever, but MP fixed that anyway. Even so, most melee rogue builds seem to stick to dagger or feat up...

    Can you miss on purpose?

Congratulations, you've successfully argued that conjurations can never get enhancement bonuses to attack or damage, since the conjuration is not actually wielding or even holding an implement. Enjoy your version of the game, where conjurations are utterly useless at high level! Really, all...

So... why exactly can you not take actions after a charge?

I think the broad design justification is something like: "We want to encourage players to move each turn. However, it should be easier to enter melee combat than to exit it." The first principle leads to the whole setup of "move and standard action" each turn, and the second is a big part of...

So... why exactly can you not take actions after a charge?

Yes, I think it's meant as an extra safeguard against cheese like charging in against a slow/immobilized foe and then moving back out of reach. If you're forced to reverse the order (move away, then charge back in), then you end your turn adjacent to your target and they can attack you back on...

    Magic weapon/implement/etc. tax?

Yeah, I just recently noticed that wording, but I really don't think it was quite what was intended. It certainly never before even occurred to me to play it that way. Anyway, regarding extra treasure... magic item value doubles about every two levels (more like 2.2). So handing out four "big...

    Devoted Paladin + Healing Hands?

As written, yes, they stack. But Healing Hands is kind of a cruddy feat anyway, it'd be entirely useless if it weren't for the stacking, and I don't imagine many people take it these days.

    Magic weapon/implement/etc. tax?

What exactly are you referring to here?

Avenger Power: Oath of the Final Duel Questions

That's right. Invisible creatures need to keep quiet and still, or they'll lose any hidden status they may have gained and everyone will know what square they're in. In general I try to let "jump and attack before I fall" stuff work, because otherwise fighting vs fliers just becomes even less...

    Magic weapon/implement/etc. tax?

Really? I guess the skald who sings epic poems while cutting apart his enemies will just go sit in a corner and weep. Oh wait, no he won't, he's too busy KICKING ASS. Uh, unless they've invested in Melee Training or something, even a sword-using bard's OAs and charges are pretty worthless...

    Where is the bugbear rage?

Yeah, you don't hear more about them since the DM has to "opt-in". But bugbears are indeed quite popular for munchkin damage-maxing. That said, the race really has little else going for it. The most similar player-race is Half-Orc, which gets Half-Orc Resilience and Swift Charge instead of...

    Monks and damage feats

For superior implements, a Quickbeam Staff (+1 square to push/pull/slide) is good for some monk builds too. Even better, this should stack with the magic item Staff of Forceful Rebuking (+1 square to push/pull). Turning Crane's Wings into an at-will push 3 is nice.

Monster design and expected bonus to hit...

A monster two levels above the party generally is going to hit them fairly often. And why do you expect it to have CA? 15th level PCs should have a variety of ways to avoid being flanked. Also, a wizard with no armor feats, in +3 cloth, wlll have AC 26 at 15th level. Sure, wizards have...

Is a fighter-ranger hybrid dumb? (help me build)

If you want swords and bows, you might actually look in the Warlord class. There's a ranged warlord option, that way you can get both melee/ranged to key off STR, making it less difficult to be good at both.

I hope for another multiclass feat for monks

Actually, do you need Unarmed Combat in the hybrid Fighter/Monk case? Just take Brawler style for the +2/+4/+6 prof bonus to unarmed strike, and since you're a hybrid you can use ki foci and add the enhancement bonus to weapon attacks with weapons you're proficient with. What I'm not sure...

PHB3: Random stuff that doesn't merit a full post

Yeah, I'm wondering if they'll errata that to a "free action on your turn". Then again, it's still only 1/encounter. As is, you currently can ruin a monster's move+melee attack if you time it right.

    Battlemind: Blurred step

Oh wow, that's like a lightbulb in my head. I've been totally "misunderestimating" Blurred Step, then. It's still not so much a "sticky" power, but it's definitely a "no, you absolutely will not get past me to my friend right behind me" power.

PHB3: Random stuff that doesn't merit a full post

The Hammer Rhythm+Brutal Barrage combo fun was discussed when the preview came out: http://www.enworld.org/forum/d-d-4th-edition-rules/271916-battleminds-ok-defenders-fantastic-strikers.html The answer I got then was that, yes, the DPR is a bit high (and of course ridiculously consistent), but...
