Lining up a triple takeout in curling. I tell you, I felt like the smartest athlete ever after making that shot.

Barbarian / Rogue Tank. Make enemies focus on me.

Brag about how you're unhittable or unkillable, out of character, or otherwise dare your DM into targeting you.

Shield Master POLL: Rules as Fun!

If you had removed that option, I wouldn't have answered the poll, and I would've told you that none of your options matched the way my table rules. Because even if my table universally uses the shove first, we haven't ruled that it must come first.

I draw the occasional D&D map

I like it! (The "I'd buy that for a dollar" quote is reserved for Turgenev's thread since he, y'know, sells them for a dollar)

Removing Hit Points from the Game

This is why I don't play with critical hit charts that cause severe injuries. The results are ridiculous.

Removing Hit Points from the Game

I'd probably buy in if I could get some "sub levelling" in. Like, even if it took 6 months to get to 5th level, if I gained an extra ASI or a feat halfway through, that would satisfy me.

Playing with the Averages - A simplistic approach

I like the idea that @FrogReaver put forth. What your DM is considering would require that he knows how many hit points the player has left, or would result in the player saying "oh, that takes down" and the DM responding "no, wait; let me roll the dice," then gathering up the dice, etc. I...

Is that how you interpret my previous post?

GameHole Con Hints At An "As Yet Unannounced Setting" for D&D This Year

Oh. I know what I'm betting on. A Star Trek crossover, set specifically on ancient Bajora when they had those solar sailing ships that let them reach Cardassia. "There are four continual flames"

Shield Master POLL: Rules as Fun!

It doesn't need nerfing. It caused zero problems when it was used at my table the way the majority answered for this poll. I totally suggest not handing out +2 weapons though. Those are a nuisance, mere number inflation that are nothing to the game in terms of fun options.

D&D 5E (2014) Homebrew D&D 5e Low Fantasy, Low Magic, Gritty Rules (New Version)

I think he's just making a giant metajoke: He's arguing for the elimination of Elves simply because that what hobgoblins do, and he's The Hobgoblin. (I mean, that's what I'd be doing if I had his name)

    Continuing Campaign

You could have them do some crazy dungeon crawling through Undermountain with Dungeon of the Mad Mage . . . By having them enter through Stardock. And when they're not in the dungeon, they could spelljammer around a surprisingly significantly populated asteroid belt in a ship that lacks faster...

Shield Master POLL: Rules as Fun!

I don't think that warning complies with EU regulations. What are the cookies used for?

Shield Master POLL: Rules as Fun!

Ooh, yeah. That points to one of the nice side effects of my system of giving the monsters unique features. Even if I was to do it to one-up what the players were doing (though I don't), it looks like I'm giving the monsters a defining feature, something It's supposed to have, so the players...

Shield Master POLL: Rules as Fun!

That sounds so limiting. As the DM, and I can give the monsters any sort of feature I want. It seems like such a waste of potential to give them what the players have. Like, if I gave an NPC the Shield Master feat, he only gets to knock down one player. But if I give him the Booming Voice of...
