    Problems with Greater Magic Weapon

From the SRD: It says nothing about removing or replacing existing powers. It simply overlaps the exisiting enchancment bonus to hit and damage.

    Problems with Greater Magic Weapon

I agree that I think that is what they meant and I wish that that is what they had written. Unfortunately, they instead wrote "Magic items are not affected by area dispels. " If a magic object has had a spell on it and that object is not affected by area dispels, I don't see anyway short of a...

    mobile Glyph of Warding?

Ok, I've been waiting and waiting for the old boards to be brought back but I give up, so I'm asking this question again (since I can't read the answers posted previously).: Can you place a Glyph of Warding on an object that moves? If so, can you place it on creature (or maybe a creatures...

    Grr... Cleave Semantics

You will continue to run into these problems as long as you take flavor text as official rules. Knockdown does not allow for a cleave. I know that it says "etc.", but it has to be an "ect." on par with dropping someone below zero hit points, or killing them. Being forced prone hardly qualifies...

    Problems with Greater Magic Weapon

Just to push some buttons... It is my proposition that the sword held by a fighter is not affected by a Dispel Magic targetting the fighter. In order to take the GMW off the sword, the enemy would have to target the sword. Greater Magic Weapon has "Target: One weapon", so to remove it you must...

    Questions about Lion Extraordinary Abilities

I would run it like your Option A. My first thought was that rake would be run just like a monster with constriction, but on further review I don't see that that is necessarily the case. With regards to pounce, I would just require the lion to "leap upon" his victim. Logically, this would...

    Wind Walk and magic items

I just read Wind Walk, Gaseous Form, and the MM entry on gaseous form for creatures. It looks to me like your items, and their effects generally remain active. I suspect that you cannot talk (it says no verbal spells) so that would rule out command-word activated items. If does not specifically...

Tumbling through threat ranges...roll before or after?

If you try to tumble past a horde of orcs such that every 5 ft step would cause an AoO, do you make the rogue go through his entire move (and take ALL the AoOs)? Or does he stop when the first AoO is done against him? I'm thinking that since the rogue gets to do the whole move even if he fails...

Area Dispel Magic: What is affected?

So I'm thinking the roll vs the summonings to start (one for each critter). Then roll through each spell on each creature (highest to lowest) until either one spell is dispelled on a given creature or you run out of spells for that creature. Lastly, roll against any object with spells on them...

    Problems with Greater Magic Weapon

For any of you players out there who have to suffer through these antagonistic DMs, let me remind you that you can pick up a Ring of Counterspelling for a measly 4,000gp. Put a Dispel Magic in there (150gp at your local bazzar) and you are proof against the first targeted Dispel sent your way...

    Spell Turning

In that particular case, I believe that the bad guy could break the bond simply by moving out of range. I know when I use Shield Other, I have to constantly make sure to stay near the person I am shielding, as the spell goes away otherwise.

    WIELDSKILL much too powerful?

Since I don't have the book handy and MoF isn't on-line (that I know of), I could certainly be wrong on this; but doesn't wieldskill grant you a +10 on your next (and only next) skill check for the chosen skill as long as that check is made within the next level minutes? It seemed kind of like...

    Troglodyte Stench Ability

Have your DM read the following: Cloaker, Hezrou, Lacedon, Troglodyte, Ghoul Touch, and Stinking Cloud. - - - Stinking Cloud uses the phrase "Living creatures in the cloud are nauseated". All of the rest use the terms like "causes retching and nausea", "wracked with nausea", "overwhelmed by...

    Troglodyte Stench Ability

It doesn't say "become Nauseated", it says "be overcome with nausea". In D&D world (and only in D&D world), these are two distinct things. The first incapacitates you while the second is just flavor text.

    Bestow Curse and ability damage.

My handy Stacking Handout says: So I'm willing to buy the "non-stacking effective penalty" thing. Ah well, I've yet to bestow a curse anyway :)

    "Shield Other" question

I can certainly see it going either way. But with the Art/Collins interpretation, consider the following: - Cleric is immune to fire and is shielding a dumb fighter. - Fighter gets hit by a fireball for 30 points. - Fighter takes 15 points of fire damage. - Cleric takes 15 points of fire damage...

    Bestow Curse and ability damage.

Just to even out the votes, I agree with Arty. The order matters. I'll also toss in that ability score damage can stack with itself, so toss three Curses and a drop of poison and that's all she wrote.

    Fighting in crowds

Have you considered just calling them "entangled" with a crowd?

    "Shield Other" question

To me, it looks like the damage is cut in half right after it is rolled, but before it is applied to the victim. Half the damage goes to the victim and the other half (rounded up) goes to the cleric. Then each, independently, applies any defenses that they may have and takes the rest as damage...
