Vampires... do they ever need to feed on blood?

Not so. The vampire template simply lists them as "any evil," and most all mindless undead are neutral evil. Just sayin'.

    Permanent spells after death

I'd venture to say that the mind is insane, and it's nonfunctional while the creature is dead, so the insanity doesn't have any relevant effect during that time. Of course, upon returning to life, the character might immediately try to attack the unfortunate priest. >_< Although the prospect...

    Alternates/Replacements for Paladins Divine Grace

There's a feat called Serenity in the Dragon Compendium. It lets a paladin use his Wisdom modifier rather than his Charisma modifier for Divine Grace, Lay on Hands, Turn Undead, and Smite Evil. That might suit your character better than making class feature substitutions.

Ghost Manifestation: what kind of action?

Manifestation is a supernatural ability. Supernatural abilities are standard actions unless otherwise noted. Ergo, manifesting takes a standard action.

    Special Ability advancement

No and no. Unless noted in an individual monster's entry, increasing its HD does not improve is special abilities. (Some monsters, like the barghest, do improve their abilities as they gain HD.) The save DCs of the winterspawn's spell-like abilities would increase if the relevant ability...

    Adaptive Style & Readying Maneuvers

The official WotC answer is yes.

    This can't be right.

That's not fair at all. There's absolutely no reason for you to be punished simply because you prefer some spells to others.

    Dragons' Blindsense?

That's precisely what it means. The dragon knows where you are, but it can't sense you clearly enough to launch a precise attack.

    Expecting an Ambush

I've recently had a rules debate with some of my players regarding the party being prepared for an ambush. The situation is this: the party, travellign through a dungeon, is beset by ghost wizards flitting out of the walls to attack. The first time, the party was caught unawares, and the...

    Jump in Combat

The SRD actually doesn't say one way or another. I read the answer in one of Dragon's Sage Advice columns - which I'll admit aren't entirely official. Maybe if I have an abundance of time I'll go look for it.

    Help pricing NPC spellcasting

Axiomatic creature has "Archon" as a component, meaning that it can only be cast by an archon. Furthermore, the spell requires a 10,000 GP diamond, which must generally be paid for by the PC, and an expenditure of 1,000 XP, which translates into an extra 5,000 GP added to the cost. The PHB...

    Jump in Combat

Maximum jump distance is based on your check. It used to be limited by your height in 3.0, but that's gone. Assuming you're landing right where you started, you wouldn't take damage from that anyway. Falling damage is based on the difference between your starting and ending heights, not the...

    Adding a Class SKill

Just a quick question: is there any method (preferably a feat or something similar) for giving a character bonus class skills? Specifically, I'm looking to make a duskblade (PHBII) with Bluff as a class skill - and I don't want to multiclass.

    Animal Friendship

More specifically, it was in the 3.0 Player's Handbook - it was how druids got their animal companions.

    Little Known Rules of D&D

Raise dead doesn't work on creatures killed by death effects. I just had someone point this out to me recently.

Attacking with warhorse and domain progression questions...

You'll continue to gain access to your domain spells. This is a function of your cleric spellcasting and is thus improved by your PrC. Domain powers, however, are based on your cleric level, not your spellcasting level. Some PrCs might improve your domain abilities (Paragnostic Apostle comes...

    Enhancement penalty vs. stat damage

Bestow curse comes to mind (it can apply a -6 penalty to any ability score).

How powerful is abilty SA things usually immune to SA?

Rogues are balanced in part because the can't sneak attack everything. Allowing them to use their special abilities to get around this is far to powerful IMO.

Looking for a Clerical Casting Ability

I've been looking around for a cleric ability - either a feat or alternate class feature - that lets a cleric treat a hand holding his deity's favored weapon as empty when casting spells, thus allowing him to cast spells with somatic components and make touches while using a weapon and shield...
