Since those potions require healing surges to work. They're basically just there to give you access to healing surges when there's no cleric or warlord about, I'm pretty sure.

I just did too. Certainly weird, especially if you think on the fact that it's the only mammal to evolve that way, but nothing to make a big deal about.

I think the problem may be less the lack of a 4e general forum, as much as the rules forum *used to be* a 4e general forum, and people are still getting used to the idea that it's not anymore. Also, the link on the main Enworld page still just says '4e forum'. Still, I'd actually like to see...

Definitely Baldur's Gate style. MMO's just can't capture the creativity of D&D, and single-character games don't really work out well either.

For a D20 book, though it's out of print, I'd suggest A Game of Thrones by Guardians of Order. If you've ever read George R.R. Martin, you'd know how gritty the setting is. But there is very rare magic, and when it does come up it comes up very powerfully. There's not much in the way of magic...
