D&D General Poll: How tough should 20th Level Fighters be? (MCU edition)

Rogue is Black Widow. Ranger is Hawkeye. The Trickery Domain Cleric is, literally, Loki's powers...direct rip off. Plus ability to wear armor? Adequate ability to use weapons/hand-to-hand? The 20th level Cleric is Loki. The rest seem pretty spot on.

D&D General Poll: How tough should 20th Level Fighters be? (MCU edition)

Sure he can. He's probably getting in a good pop...one in three or four attacks...and repeatedly having America's ass handed to him/knocked down. But as we all know, he can do this all day. (and heal fast in between knock outs). He'd hold his own...even if he couldn't kill it without grabbing...

D&D General Chris just said why I hate wizard/fighter dynamic

Wow. I can't believe I never thought of this, but what a great idea! A feature, around 10th or 12th level that increases your damage die for any weapon wielded. The warrior's expertise is such that a swing of a sword deals 2d6 instead of d8...or whatever/however the dice increase. Again...

D&D General Chris just said why I hate wizard/fighter dynamic

Alright...swing numero deux. These are not to say features are only acquired at these levels, more a snapshot/framework for what the class can do at these various levels...and then we can pick apart/comments/analysis of why they are or are not balanced or fair or powerful enough or whatever...

D&D 5E (2014) Why do cities in Faerun have fortified walls?

At least without buying me dinner first. ;)

D&D General Chris just said why I hate wizard/fighter dynamic

Hmmm...let's get out the spitballs and see where this goes... First, the casters...I've already done a couple of things with them in my game/system/setting that "curbs" them to a degree. Reining in the spell progression seems the first/"no brainer" option. Contrary to @DND_Reborn 's earlier...

    D&D 5E (2014) Orcs and Drow in YOUR game (poll */comments +)

You understand that now I have to create a divinity "Citadel of Ricks" to interact/rule the multiverse, right? Love it!

    D&D 5E (2014) Orcs and Drow in YOUR game (poll */comments +)

They are both always and irrevocably Evil. I do not need WotC "helping" me with changes that are neither necessary nor ever going to happen. Drow, "dark elves," of my setting are all but myth to the surface world. Only the eldest elves, northern dwarves, and those unfortunate (or foolhardy)...

RPG Evolution: What Color is Your Damage?

hmm...let's see...I've never formalized any of this, but off the top of my head/how I tend to envision things... Fire: Red. (or reddish-violet or violet-to-pale-blue...I've actually envisioned flame effects in all kinds of colors...but for a "standard/auto" response, let's just say red.)...

D&D 5E (2014) Setting spell level for homebrew spell - advice please!

For starters (setting aside the "paladin-ness" of obscuring one's face from your enemies) make it an Illusion, not an Evocation. Duration should just be 1 minute per level. Or something that isn't Concentration dependent. This is a paladin spell that can/will clearly be used within combat. It...

D&D 5E (2014) How you want familiars to be in your campaign...

I'm rather "both, and" about this. A lot is up to the player and what they want/story they might come up with or wish to pursue in the game. Or they don't care at all and just want to fill some mechanical things. I'm totally fine with normal animals. I'm totally fine with the...

Miss them? Where did they go? Mine never left. :D

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e witches, your preferred implementation?

For 5e, I've done a Druid subclass Witch and a Wizard subclass Witch. They each covered some basics. Neither did everything. And neither offered the real breadth of archetypes different kinds/tastes of witches could be. I played a Pathfinder Witch for quite a while, into high levels. Loved it...

D&D General What To Call A Gish?

Better than "Gish." At least they are real words of an actual thing.

D&D General What is Druidism in your game?

The elves were the first people to harness the magics of Orea. They enjoyed a mystical capacity inherent to their nature. Some secrets gleaned from their interactions with the gods. Much was learned from the dragons and titans, who worked the powers of the cosmos before even gods walked the...

D&D General Rethinking the class name "Druid".

Is this referring to me? I can't imagine how anything I said in my previous comment as "self righteous." And, no, I haven't put forth a "positive input" about it because I see absolutely no cause to change it at all. It's D&D. The class is Druid. I know perfectly well what a druid is to me, in...

D&D General Rethinking the class name "Druid".

My best guess would be the lastest thread on "What is Druidism [in your game/world]?" churned up other "Similar Threads" involving Druids. This caught the poster's eye, not noting the original or "last post" date, and -Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Necromancy, POOF!- that's how we got a new comment here.

D&D General What are your weirdest parties?

By today's standards? Hands down, the weeeeirdest: Human Fighter Dwarf Fighter Human or Half-Elf Ranger Elf Fighter/Mage ("Eldritch Knight" or "Bladesinger/Swordmage") Human Cleric Human or Elf Mage ("Wizard") Halfling Thief (or multiclassed Thief-FIghter)

D&D General Not Railroad, Not Sandbox ... What else is there?

Sandroad? Railbox? Seems pretty self-explanatory that some merging, meshing, using bits of both, back n' forth, to keep the party on their toes is the best way to go.
