Are Knights and Cavaliers the same thing?

I have often received calls from players to make a knight class available, or let them play in DragonLance. The game has room for the cavalier, the paladin, and for both the fighter and ranger to be a little knight like themselves, too.

D&D 5E (2014) Having another wizard in the group...does it suck?

More than one wizard is great. The wizard is the most powerful class, and having more than one increases the party's power by a greater amount than any other class being followed more than once. As for inviting more people to play, it should be accepted with every courtesy you'd want to extend...

D&D 5E (2014) Followup on "Everyone Starts at First Level"

All characters should start at 1st level unless you're playing a one-shot adventure, in which case pre-generated characters are usually the way to go.

Do you knowingly buy game books you don't intend to actually play

The best compliment a game product can receive is for someone to use part of it in their campaign.

    D&D 5E (2014) Topics for a camp

It's nice to have a chat around the campfire. I have invited my players to have these many times, and it always went well.

D&D 5E (2014) How has 5e solved the Wand of CLW problem?

I don't think we should overlook that one of the attractions of hit points is actually to run the game free of gore. I apply every hit point as part physical, and each hit can cut or bruise but I don't make it gorey. Healing to full HP is dependent on magic for the most part not just because...

At Least 4 Months For Conversion Documents

5e has new content. Any of it that you want to incorporate into your campaign could be helped by conversion guidelines. From 3rd and 4th Edition, there were eight monster manuals, and 4th edition in particular introduced new monsters including dizzying mechanics and jargon. Just the other...

At Least 4 Months For Conversion Documents

But there are new things in 5th Edition.

At Least 4 Months For Conversion Documents

This isn't wizards.com, but conversion rules for bringing content from later editions into previous editions should be something 5th Edition and every edition to come have. I could hardly pick a more vital part I want to see.

At Least 4 Months For Conversion Documents

I'd let him speak for himself. I read your comment as negative, though. I would only reply to learn if you meant to be rude or insulting. There are plenty of things I would use a conversion from 5e to 2e for.

D&D 5E (2014) How has 5e solved the Wand of CLW problem?

Players struggling with 5MWD problems would still face that if not more so without better access to healing through magic.

At Least 4 Months For Conversion Documents

Is this a serious question? Sorry, but conversions "normally" work either way.

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me to Spend the Money

You should buy 5th Edition if you know you have some players who want to play it.

At Least 4 Months For Conversion Documents

Is there a conversion for 5th into 2nd?

D&D 5E (2014) Hit Point Recovery Too Generous

I thought you said it could at least be done if someone wanted to. I think everyone should listen to Saelorn.

D&D 5E (2014) How has 5e solved the Wand of CLW problem?

If you were experiencing a problem with too many wands of cure light wounds, you could have changed that. Either stop buying or using them, or limit their availability.

D&D 5E (2014) Hit Point Recovery Too Generous

I'd disagree. Characters could know their hit points, and even refer to them as such. Just as they could tell from practice that a +1 sword is significantly better, and a +2 so much better than a +1, they can name these differences. They know how to refer to their injuries and their capacity...

    D&D 5E (2014) do CRs seem a bit arbitrary?

What I felt wasn't easy about 4e was the new jargon it introduced, and the huge hit points given to monsters.

    D&D 5E (2014) do CRs seem a bit arbitrary?

The analogy of cars carries that a bit far. D&D is nowhere near that complex. Getting it balanced and calibrated has often been done. At the same time, I think the point you're making is correct. It's that the groundwork has been done to make it balanced, or not in the case of 5th Edition...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Turn Undead conundrum

No, it's not counter-productive. It demonstrates the power the cleric wields better than just doing some damage. It should turn them or dispel them outright.
