Products you'd love to see published (but probably never will)

Anything of Castle Zagyg below the Upper Levels... But I can always hope, I suppose.

Initially I thought you were talking about the Crusades.

Boston Gameday Aug 22nd, 2009 (logistics and directions linked from 1st post)

Please sign me up! Or rather, as most likely attending. It doesn't seem like there is a sign up sheet yet, unless I missed it. I really need to get together my own module to run at one of these things...

Getting into PDF seller dungeon tiles

I haven't tried the WorldWorks stuff, but I've been loving Fat Dragons' E-Z Dungeons. The WorldWorks dungeon pieces are just too "busy" for my taste. Some of their nondungeon stuff looks pretty neat, though. I got E-Z Dungeons Deluxe a week or two ago, and I've made several pieces so far. It...

Not an Enless Quest book, but something similar

Thank you for pointing out "Way of the Tiger." I played one of those books ages ago and had a blast. Like an idiot I sold it to a used bookstore, and until just now I couldn't remember what it was called. I think I'm going to take a trip to ebay...

    On DMing and "writing books"

What other roleplaying communities are there that have DMs, other than tabletop and LARPing?

grodog's review of Castle Zagyg: The Upper Works

I ordered mine from my FLGS, Pandemonium games, and picked it up yesterday. Although it was released at Gen Con it seems to have taken awhile for distributors to get ahold of it, so that is why you may not have seen it in game stores. If you want to support your FLGS, you might want to ask if...

Presidential Election Politics and What Turned Me Off From 4e

Before last night, I had sort of made a decision about 4e: I didn't like it. I hadn't read the books much (they came out when I was studying for the bar, and I had hardly picked them up), but from what I read online it seemed like it wouldn't be for me. I'd stick to 3e and my (gods) 100+ 3e...

Question about GSL - Scott please comment

Yeah. Sorry, I looked for other responses before I posted, but I guess I wasn't thorough enough. :)

Question about GSL - Scott please comment

You are giving out bad advice. Sometimes a waiver of the right to sue is valid, sometimes it isn't. Sometimes you waive the right to sue, and have to submit to arbitration. For example, credit card agreements often force arbitration. This isn't legal advice.

    4e D&D GSL Live

No. At least, I don't think so. The important phrase in the quoted language is "*independent* development", ie they created it on their own. As far as I can tell, WoTC is covering their behinds so if they make something similar to you, you can't turn around and claim they stole your idea. In...

Knights of the Dinner Table fans--ASSEMBLE

Well, I've been playing D&D since 2e (started in 1993),* and reading KODT since issue 1. I'm not sure if that makes me old school, but damn, I love KODT. I like the ongoing plots they have now, especially the ones that take the story away from the game table. I like all the game stories, but...

Boston Gameday - Sat, March 15th (FULL!)

PirateCat- I haven't checked this thread in a few weeks (finals), and I just noticed that someone was running Castle Zagyg in the morning. I'm a big fan of the series (Yggsburgh is way cool- maybe someday I'll actually be able to use some of it :) ) Any chance you can switch me from...

Gary Gygax has passed. RIP beloved father of RPG's. (merged)

I saw the news out of the corner of my eye as I closed my email earlier today. My jaw dropped, and I felt awfully sad to read about the death of someone I had never met, and only posted a message or two towards in my life. But like many of you, my life would have been very different if not for...

    Harn

I'm a player in an awesome monthly campaign. We're a pretty combat light group and I don't own any of the books, so I don't know the rules very well (beyond a basic understanding of the skill system), but it's really fun with a good DM.

    The awesome encounter that wasn't.

I wouldn't feel bad. Getting to 4th level and not bothering to buy some sort of ranged weapon is kind of dumb. It's not your fault they weren't prepared. They've learned a valuable lesson- from now on they'll invest in some ranged capability.
