What monster types have been done to death?

I agree with you there! Creating a Half anything creature is nothing but a lack of creativity when trying to create a new monster. I'm suprised there's no Halfling/Hillgiant half breed yet...or is there??

    Drizzt The Drow

There's been a good aligned drow diety for over 13 years. Elaine Cunningham tied up the histry of the dark elven pantheon with the elven pantheon very well in Evermeet. and makes it make more sense rather than *poof* here's a new god. Eliestraee isn't a very significant god anyways, her...

    Wizard/Rogue

Precise shot seems to be your best choice. You may also have fun with the Lesser orb spells also, they're only lvl 1, and do 2d8 at third level to boot. (unless you get the sonic orb, but what would a rogue want to be making noise for anyways?)

What are the two most useless schools of magic for a Necromancer to give up?

I'd more or less drop abjuration and evocation. Imagine getting to mix your illusions with your undead? And enchantment for those that may see through the illusions? They have potential, but just can't blow anything up.

What have you done to REALLY make your players hate an NPC?

What can you do to get your players to really hate an NPC? The way I've found quite useful is have them become friends and companions for a few adventures before the NPC's colors eventually show through and he/she screws them over. My example is that my players had to hire some NPC's as...

    Real Life Stats

:D I've had several groups in the past set up a game where we play ourselves. The majority of us are pretty much average, and the stats tend to float between 10-13, although things such as STR is sometimes higher. What the players had found that it was more fun. After a few games they...

What's your favourite "Forgotten Realms" place?

:D One word: UNDERMOUNTAIN I guess that would count as Waterdeep then. Since my groups always gravitated towards the city whether I liked it or not. My runner up would be the Underdark

What's the Most Asinine Character Idea/Concept You've Dealt With?

I haven't had many people make assinine characters, but I've occasionally had assinine players whom as a DM I've deliberately killed to keep things going.

    Favorite Craft / Profession skill

If you chose the profession Trapper the skills involved would entail the knowledge on skinning animals, drying the skin, tanning or any treatment to preserve the skin/fur in as good a condition as possible. Not to mention covering your basic survival and tracking skills. But you'd need the...

    Wizard Spell Research

Basically 1000 gp/week and 1 week per level of the spell and a Spellcraft check with a DC of 10 + spell level, sounds good. :D To make things interesting, have the DM roll the Spellcraft check, after all sometimes research may go wrong, you forgot to carry the Y and when you try it for the...

Getting Your Comrade's Body from the Ocean Floor

:\ Let's hope the DM isn't familiar with ecology from the deep ocean, otherwise you have little time on your hands. The deep (sans monsers) is full of scavangers or predators and food is unfortunately scarce. Hagfish and and other wildlife would make short work of the body even before it does...

An above all else group leader

I've actually done something similar myself. As a DM I've seen many games go bad when the social structure is set amongst players with a "leader". However my friend wanted to run a drow campaign and I jumped in on it. Of course I had chosen a female clerk...why not eh? Anyways it was...

    Dwarven Lumberjack

Balance is a definet must! Not to mention, besides the axe probably a polearm with a hook on the end could also be a class weapon, or tool for river running. Because of that, the dwarf would probably not be penalized as much for movement rate while moving through swamps with deadfalls or...

Reincarnate - What's your favored class?

:D I like it, Recycle sounds like a good spell to implement. Artificers could also have fun with that....Start saving your empties.

Reincarnate - What's your favored class?

:D Perhaps a table for constructs (the living kind) be created for the reincarnation spell. You could have your warforged reincarnate into anything from an iron golem, to (for the bad rolls) a winch for a crossbow.

Reincarnate - What's your favored class?

I agree with that also, but If the player wants to roleplay the mental changes that one may go through (like Clackers change with polymorph in Sojourn) I'd allow the the class change as long as it flows with the story. I guess in that case I'd default to the origional racial class but give the...

    Description: Roll First, Talk Later?

:) I kind of go along those lines too. Sometimes though when it comes to certain things such as moving silently I as a DM will make the roll for the character in general. And explain that they Think they're hiding until... But I only do that in certain situations, just to add suspense. ;)...

    Fire Elemental question

Perhaps the amount of water would make a difference. Since they're pure fire in essence they would last longer submerged in the opposite element...For a short period of time. Throw a Fire elemental in a Deep Swimming pool and trap it in there: It may take some damage (maybe 1d6/minute or...

    I need low-level magic items

You could use items that enhance skills to a degree or offer minor protections. Just some examples: Scimitar of the Cat +0 or +1, gives +3 to jump, spot, and listen, and move Potion of mint (Think mouthwash): Gives +5 to certain charisma checks when dealing with NPC's Fish club: Stuns...
