Is 4E still D&D to you?

If I took your statement literally then a game where all the classes were summoning types that summoned and channelled powers using rip offs from Yu-Gi-Oh cards would be DnD as well :P Does it seem DnD to me? If this was edition was developed entirely out of fanwork then we wouldn't think it...

DM refuses to switch; players want to

Ask your DM and a few other people to join the 4th edition game, even if it's only for a few sessions. The DM might like it, if not then nothings wasted. At worst you can continue playing 3.5 on Fridays and DM'ing 4.0 on Wednesday. More and varied gaming = sweet. This is not a Solomon's Riddle...

    No Animate Dead?

Oh, thank you. I think the more interesting note is that you can muck around with someone elses rituals. I think I'll simply make my own undead ritual using the Lich and Vampire creation as a guide line.

    Players making stuff for themselves.

So basically they'll get exactly the amount of money they would get per level except that instead of taking the short way which is simply beating it out of some people they'd have to spend long journeys away from towns in distant and dark forbidden places to find rare herbs and try to find out...

    Poisons? You're kidding right?

Sorry, as I said in your thread:

    Players making stuff for themselves.

Currently it costs as much to make something youself as it is to buy it. Would you allow Players to manufacture poison, magic items etc cheaper if they searched for the materials to make them? Also would you allow this to be counted besides the usual treasure parsels? This would open up a...

Poisoned weapon - Does hitting use up the poison?

I'm afraid that it only works for the first person you hit. The next time, not every time in the next five min. And even if you hit someone on your first swing (if you hit multiple people) it'll only work on the first one. Makes you wonder if a dragon would toss a minion into the fireline ;)...

    Poisons? You're kidding right?

I think the real problem is that this deadly poison is only really deadly to little children, the elderly and minions. True, this is only mechanics and most DMs CAN simply say "the shopkeeper dies" but mechanically it simply doesn't work that way. I had a quick look at the NPCs in Fallcrest...

    Physician Heal Thyself!

Usually the person who knows the skills and rituals to cure people in the group is the Cleric (who'll ideally have Trained: Heal, Cure Disease etc). However, what happens when the Cleric needs help? Can a Cleric use the Heal skill on himself if he's ill? Can he use Cure Disease on himself? If...

    Clerics Power Source

So I guess that for most people Clerics are going to be powered by something other then just a rite? Well, it's nice to agree to agree for once.

WotC is an idi0t. (sorry, but Jack99 gave me a great opening there)

    Smudges - All Core books

I find the quality of the new books (physical) horrible. The only good thing I can say is that they don't smell, they're nice and heavy and seem to be crease resistant. Like polyester.

    Clerics Power Source

Now, I'm assuming that in DnD 3.x and previous editions Clerics got their powers from their deity, except if they got it from a "cause", some other Divine power source or something else. Also if you behaved too poorly your powers might be stripped away from you (usually by your deity) However...

    Unaligned Clerics

As dubious as I think the rule is, I believe that it might have to do with the following. It is not the deity that rejects the cleric, but rather the cleric that does not wish to devote themselves to the deity. You see, a Lawful Good cleric might want to serve Bahamut because they like the...

Young and Adult dragons too powerful?

I think the whole problem isn't the dragon flying away but rather staying out of melee range in the sky and blasting away.

    Paragon and Epic Paths

You can always multiclass if you're willing to pay for it in feats. I suppose that most DM's wouldn't deny you if you don't want to take a Paragon or Epic path. Seems a bit of a waste though.

    Naming the world

Wouldn't the Fifth World be more appropriate considering the latest developments (assuming you mean Kirby's Fourth World)

    No Animate Dead?

Do you have a page number for that? I don't want to read the whole thing in case I get to play it in sometime.
