    Good "spirit world" material?

Surprised no one has mentioned the Ghostwalk campaign book. ;)

    Knowledge[Local] : How Local?

Yup, when we use the Knowledge (Local) skill in our games we use it for specific regions and locations only. Not a generic local knowledge skill which is silly; it's easy to understand an individual having knowledge of a few specific places such as Knowledge (Silverymoon) or Knowledge (Great...

    critical hits on undead

Hmm, not at my books atm but doesn't the CW Favored Critical feat allow a ranger with favored enemy (undead) to crit undead creatures?

Grapple troubles for creatures with Improved Grab

I was under the impression that the number of grapple attempts for a character is equal to either = Iterative Attacks (BAB) or Natural Attacks. Not sure how mixing up both iterative and natural attacks in one character might look like though.

I would like a simple sorceror revision.

Heh, definately plenty of Sorcerer revisions out there to choose from, many of them very well thought out and with some quality pieces of mechanics and game flavor! Here's a link to my humble version of the Bloodline Sorcerer: PDF Link Forthcoimng - don't think I can post my website link for...

A not too drastic Paladin variant (your feedback please!)

Looks pretty good. I run a similar paladin revision, hadn't considered the use of exalted feats at all (try to stay away from anything that came out of the book of Exalted Deeds). The 7th level exalted status is a cool idea, I may have to take a look at those exalted feats. Myslef, I ended up...

Getting those potions out in combat: How long?

Breathing only through your nose while fighting a melee combat I foresee some difficulties there for the character. A heavy hitting blow to the character possibly expelling breath suddenly may cause the potion to spew forth from the chaarcters mouth, losing the potion. Finally, as has already...

    Actions after Dimension Door

This has been our group's consensus as well, by the rules for beginning combat. No initiative is rolled (and hence the beginning of combat) until one or both opponents are aware of the other.

    Trip in AoO

Unless they are tripping with something (unarmed attack or a trip-capable weapon) that they threaten, it looks like a no go for tripping on an AoO with a non-threatening unarmed attack.

    Clarification on an AoO case

I don't think the PC will miss the whole flapping wings above his head bit if the Imp swoops in and hovers (do they even have the manueverability to hover?) and would definately notice something amiss of the Imp landed on said NPC (is that an attack landing on an unwillign target - oops there...

Opinions wanted on Paladin Variant I'm working on

A paladin spell list spans three Cleric spell list levels (-1 level, equal level, +1 level): Clerical healing spells usually of one level lower than the Paladin's spell level and typically clerical anti-evil spells of one level higher. So a Paladin's 4th level spell list will consist of 3rd...

    Sundering an object you hold?

Yes. See PHB p.158, Sundering Carried or Worn Objects. That'd be true except that a character can choose to deal lethal damage with an unarmed strike at a -4 penalty to hit. Furthermore, as a full round action a character may automatically strike an unattended object. That sheet of paper is...

Opinions wanted on Paladin Variant I'm working on

A very nice mountless variant! This coming from the guy who has a slightly less front-loaded and more mount specific paladin variant of his own with bonus divine/mounted feats every 5 levels. :p Only recommendations I could make are for the 5th level spell list. Perusing the Paladin Spell list...

    Elemental Specialty question

Yea, it kinda of stymies the Elemental Savant being only able to cast [Energy] descriptor spells of a specific energy type. Though, there are still the [Force] descriptor spells at least to make use of there. The Elemental Specialty states: "When the savant casts a spell that normally deals...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Sorcerer Nerf?

PHB p.170, Choosing a Spell: "First you must choose which spell to cast...If you're a bard or sorcerer, you can select any spell you know, provided you are capable of casting spells of that level or higher." Boy, in the 3.5 PHB they sure know how to tuck these little rules bits away don't they?

Looking for Cleric PrC - Ocean/War Oriented

Try the Waveservant PrC found in Faiths & Pantheons (Forgotten Realms), this PrC is for an evil diety though, requires endurance and weapon focus (trident) feats, and adds the Ocean Domain spells to your cleric spell list, water breathing and a swim speed, aquatic servants, fight and cast...

Rich Baker posts Lost Empires of Faerun Contents pages

Gah! Two months? I have to wait two months!? :p Yup, been at the top of my list for some time. Now it's assured to be my #1 pick! Been dying for some more Netherese stuff for the campaign I'm running.

    Slow is naaasty

Agreed, slow is in the top 5 on my list of spell must-haves at 3rd level. The partial action coupled with reduced speed, multiple targets, will save...yeeaahh. Naastay! :p
