WotC Chris Perkins announces Retirement from Dungeons and Dragons

I suspect that a lot of what he did is being subsumed by the "Senior Narrative Worldbuilding Designer for Dungeons & Dragons" role that that they were hiring for a while back.

Building a Kid-Friendly RPG – Need Help Brainstorming Archetypes

Yeah the fifth class, the Compeer, is sort of a "adventure buddies" class. Like Ashe from Pokemon or Ryder from Paw Patrol. You choose an archetype and it gives you talking, lightly anthropomorphic companion. The "controller" Compeer archetype is Familiar.. stuff like that. The kinds...

Building a Kid-Friendly RPG – Need Help Brainstorming Archetypes

My son’s about at the age where he can start learning to play RPGs, so I’ve been thinking about designing a game from scratch to run for him and his friends. The idea is to keep things light and cinematic, an all-ages action-adventure game that runs on the rule of cool. I’m using a role...

D&D General Arby's branded polydice sell out in less than 2 hours

Mostly known for roast beef sandwiches, but serve all kinds of meat (every once in a while they'll even have a limited availability venison sandwich). Yeah, the horsey sauce is horseradish mayo.

    D&D General DALL·E 3 does amazing D&D art

The skyship and the main gnoll look decent. It appears it tried to pull an obscure figure from the background and make it more prominent, creating a some kind of dwarf-bird monstrosity.

D&D Launches New Eberron-Themed Playtest With Dragonmarked Feats

People were speculating that he was holding a pocket watch, but maybe it was meant to be a compass.

D&D 5E (2014) Unearthed Arcana Eberron Artificer: Cartographer + Feats

I'd argue they don't. Shifters are either extant ancestral precursors of were-creatures, or a genetic melange of the various Therianthropes. Neither suggests needing to stick to one kind of shift.

D&D 5E (2014) Unearthed Arcana Eberron Artificer: Cartographer + Feats

I hope they ditch the idea of Shifter lineages, without the stat bumps they're pretty much pointless. Just put all the Shifts into the same pot, like the Aasimar's Celestial Revelations..

D&D Launches New Eberron-Themed Playtest With Dragonmarked Feats

Yeah, that's where I'm at. I'd like to see the species prerequisites, with a sidebar on the DM waiving it for story reasons. This only serves to make the DM "the bad guy" if he wants to play a traditional Eberron game. On the other hand, the DM gets to be "the good guy" if he allows dragonmarks...
