D&D 5E (2024) (+) New Edition Changes for Inclusivity (discuss possibilities)

Some deities are multispheric (exist in more than one setting), but have different lore around them. For example, there was an FR source book (can't exactly remember which one off the top of my head) that listed Lolth, but as she also existed in Greyhawk, there was a box that described the...

D&D General I'm reading the Forgotten Realms Novels- #202 The Howling Delve by Jaleigh Johnson (Dungeons 2)

Personally, I loved Elaine Cunningham's novels. They're some of my favorite "classics" of the Realms. Her Evermeet: Island of Elves novel is still one of my FR faves. I think she has a lyrical writing style. It was so refreshing to read about Eilistraeens and Vhaeraunites, and I thought Liriel...

D&D 5E (2024) (+) New Edition Changes for Inclusivity (discuss possibilities)

Exactly. And removing it actually lessens the diversity, imho, because then that is basically ignoring the rich stories other cultures have to offer. Even if the fantasy setting is entirely made up, with original gods and lands, there is inevitably going to be some inspiration from the real world.

D&D 5E (2024) (+) New Edition Changes for Inclusivity (discuss possibilities)

This might be taking it a bit too far. I mean, books, shows, games, and other media uses gods and figures from real world mythology all the time. D&D isn't unique in that regard. As fan of the deities, I wouldn't want them to be reduced to nameless entities (and that wouldn't make sense in the...

D&D General What if the Blood War ended? (Possible Outcomes Discussion)

I don't have too much knowledge on the Blood War, but I'll weigh in briefly. It was believed to have been briefly stopped when Asmodeus abosrb the divine power of Azuth and pushed the Abyss into the Elemental Chaos, but it soon started up again. The Blood War ending would be chaos, to be sure...

    D&D 5E (2014) Drow Characters

No, but if I did, I would be a cleric of Eilistraee or Vhaeraun!

D&D 5E (2024) (+) New Edition Changes for Inclusivity (discuss possibilities)

I have not read through this entire thread, so forgive me if I repeat things others have already said. I am mostly familiar with the Forgotten Realms setting (though I am a Critical Role fan, too), so my thoughts will mostly be directed at Toril. My thoughts will also mostly concern lore, as...

D&D General Did D&D Die with TSR?

With 5e and streams like Critical Role, D&D is more popular than ever. I am mostly familiar with the Forgotten Realms setting, and there have been changes that I haven't been happy about (mostly lore related), D&D is not as "niche" as it used to be, which is both a blessing and a curse, imho. 5e...

Pathfinder 2E Paizo Releases 15 New Books At (Virtual) Gen Con!

With P2 coming out, I had hoped that the PF Tale novel line would resume, but I guess there hasn't been any word on that.

'Tales from Xadia' Dragon Prince RPG Announced

As a The Dragon Prince and D&D fan (particularly the Forgotten Realm setting), I am curious to see how this pans out.
