    HackMaster: The New Edition

I've heard great things about HarnMaster. Never had a chance to look at it or play it myself. Although I did own one of the gorgeous map sets years ago and spent hours drooling over it.

    HackMaster: The New Edition

Every week. We alteranate. Thursday one week -- Saturday the following week. Dave Kenzer is currently running us through a massive module he's working on. (Don't ask me when you can expect to see it). He's been slapping us around pretty good. ;) A big YES to all of the above. Things are sort...

    HackMaster: The New Edition

Thanks for the reminder. We're scrambling to make that happen. ;)

    HackMaster: The New Edition

;) Just seeing if you were paying attention.

    HackMaster: The New Edition

Maybe you didn't know it but there IS a Hacklopedia core book that groups monsters from the other volumes between two covers. Sort of an essential collection for those GM's who don't want to buy all the other volumes.

    HackMaster: The New Edition

That's cool. Hackmaster is like Kopi Luwak coffee bean. Not for everyone. ;)

    Lake Geneva Gaming Convention III

doh! I said "20th Anniversary". I meant 25th. Actually she's a gamer too. And would probably fight me to get a seat at any table you were running a game at. Our daugher has health problems tho. Usually requires one of us to remain at home while the other one games/plays. ;) But that either of...

    Lake Geneva Gaming Convention III

Maybe I can make it this year, Gary. ;) First time around I was in the middle of a move. Last year was on the weekend my wife and I renewed our vows (20th anniversary). She's understanding of my gaming habits. But not THAT understanding. ;) Anyway Im' about 40 minutes away. We'll see what...

    Gama Trade Show

GAMA is an opportunity for a publisher to show retailers and distributors what you have coming out in the coming months. You're not really selling stuff (although taking preorders is certainly something that takes place). You're showcasing. I love GAMA because it gives me a chance to talk to...

    Gama Trade Show

My report/blog is here: http://web.mac.com/jollybgood/iWeb/Jolly_Blackburns_Website/Blog/Blog.html Admittedly it's more my POV of the show as seen from behind our booth... But you're right. I was hoping to come home and read reactions from others who were there. Reports are few and far between.

Who Is Going To GenCon 2007?

This'll be my 15th GenCon in a row. And I'm looking forward to this one more than any other. ;) Been a great year so far. And GenCon is always the high point of the year. A time to rub elbows with old friends and to make new ones. Whoot!

Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine

We've been wrestling with the issue of stated/non-statted (i.e. generic) characters for GBU. It's a very popular feature. Problem with running stats is that the characters are almost immediately deemed 'unusable' by every reader who doesn't run that particular system. And readers have expressed...

    HackMaster: The New Edition

Thanks. A&8 is just an awesome product. Course I'm biased. I think it caught a lot of retailers off guard at GAMA. "Wow!" was probably the most uttered word I heard the booth when people first picked it up. It became pretty clear after the first day we had underprinted. Not sure how much I...

Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine

Thanks for the feedback. FK is a popular feature. It suffered a bit in KODT because it's not in color and the greyscale strips weren't very sharp. But our new printer is doing a much nicer job on the half tones. So I think more readers are getting into it now. Noah does a great job on them.

    Take the HackMaster Challenge

Actually a 30 dollar book being sold directly (we move quite a few of them -- especially at summer cons) would yield about 4 times that in profit (with the cost of the print run having been covered several years ago). Costs nothing to warehouse them as they move. And yes -- to put it to good...

    HackMaster: The New Edition

Hackmaster continues to sell very well for us. Which accounts for the recent surge in new product we've been trying to get out there. So it definitely has a bright future. I can't say too much on the subject now but I can tell you that we're very passionate about the game and interested in...

    HackMaster: The New Edition

I agree. If you look at A&8 (single book for GM/Player containing everything needed to play) I would say it resembles how any -ahem- future edition of Hackmaster would be handeled. Of course we're learning something new with each new product line so any and listening to our base. So we're...

Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine

Hey it's all good. We actually invite criticism/feedback in the magazine each month. And we get it. So I take no offense if someone calls for a feature to be dropped. (just don't ask them to drop ME!!). ;) We've tried to make KODT the Reader's Digest of gaming. Cram enough between the front...

    HackMaster: The New Edition

Good ideas. We've talked about doing a HM Lite edition. No official plans (yet) but something we've definitely been keepin notes on. I will point out that A&8 can be as complex as the players/GM want it to be. There are basic rules and then a LOT of advanced rules that are optional. Sort of a...
