WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

What a sad, sorry statement about the world when you feel the need to go through old Twitter posts to censor yourself.

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

I said a little risky, not a lot and he's only had the job for a few months. Let's see what he have by the end of 2021 or even 2022 when he move passed already planned settings and books, and are deeper into the choices Winniger has made for D&D 5e. Its going to take time to get a full...

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

Winniger has only been in the job fora few months, not years. I don't know who held the job honestly in the period between Mearls moving to a new position and Winniger getting the job. Anyways having a deep looking at Winniger's resume, he's been playing D&D since before I was alive. He's...

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

Well so far under him the two books we got (by June 2nd) were Explorer's Guide to Wildemount and Mythic Odysseys of Theros. Wildemount is the first major setting partnership with a 3rd party for 5e and one that is integrated with the D&D multiverse, and Theros is experimenting with a host of...

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

Honestly I think he's mechanics/lore guy for liencees between D&D/WotC and other companies like Larian Studios and Tuque Studios among others, so he is still involved with D&D, just not the TTRPG, but more stuff like CRPGs of various types. Maybe stuff like comic books too.

D&D 5E (2014) Mythic Odysseys of Theros is the #1 D&D New Release

That sounds that a precausten in case they can't deliver our books on time. WotC should bend it's no 5e PDF rule for hardcover books and just send folks the PDF version if they can deliver the physical book until later.

D&D General Some comic makers would kill for D&Ds numbers and demographic.

https://m.comixology.com/unlimited/learn-more It is $5.99 usd, but it turns out it's not launched in Canada yet. Over 20,000 titles, so it's as long as you are American and not a Canadian it's a great way to get into comic books.

I think Amazon has a comix app now where you can get an unlimited subscription and read as much of certain comic book lines as you want, for a lot cheaper then $70s, I'll see if I can find details.

More like 5 minutes for $4, although you can get better deals if you go just digital or get subscription and some other options. Buying a single paper back issue is the worst way to enjoy comics IMHO, its like only buying a single card of MtG, wtf are going to do with that.

    D&D 5E (2014) [Let's Read] Odyssey of the Dragonlords

It doesn't appeal to me for a host of reasons I won't get into. I think a version that happily taps into that kinky origin would be really fun.

That is very interesting, its a shape none of that fun stuff remains in the movie version of Wonder Woman.

D&D 5E (2014) Mythic Odysseys of Theros is the #1 D&D New Release

Yeah the folks that I think will be attracted to it are MtG fans, Grecoroman mythology fans, those who want more player/DM opinins for homebrew settiings, and furries who buy it for Leonin, and to a lesser extent Centuars, Satyrs, Minotaurs, and Tritons. That is a recipe for great sales.

Agreed, although I'd also want Erin M Evans, Paul S. Kemp, Troy Denning, Brian James, and some others back as well.

Honestly I'd rather get a proper novel back.

Honestly I prefered complications and other graphic novels, because a small comic is usually just a small sliver of the story. I even engaged more with comic IPs via novels and even fan fiction because a novel is far, far meater, and a full story then a $4 comic book.

What comics need to do is treat their fans with respect, go back to being actual fun, and start marketing towards comic fans. The stuff that made comics successful for decades and provided the foundation the multi-million dollar movie franchises were built upon.

They still make D&D comics, I have one with Minsc and Boo, the comic book version of Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus.

D&D 5E (2014) Mythic Odysseys of Theros is the #1 D&D New Release

I would actually say MTOFs is more Player facing then VGTM because only the small Player race chapter is for PCs, the rest of VGTM is about, well monsters, were as the entire MTOFs book is Player race based except for part of the bloodwar section and the beastairy. Elves, Tieflings, Dwarves...

D&D 5E (2014) Mythic Odysseys of Theros is the #1 D&D New Release

People can cancel orders, but unless something new major happens I just don't see it in any major numbers. I did cancel my order for Wildemount because I liked Theros a lot better (no insult intended to Wildemount, it sounds well written and it looked great in the youtube preview).
