Dragon #305 Am I just getting old?

I believe New Wave has a fairly extensives list of Confrontation mini's. Check them out at: http://www.newwavegames.com/gw.html

What does the go D20 ruling mean for the living campaigns?

Just to chime in on this topic I'd like to say the move has turned me off the RPGA. I've been flirting with the idea of joining and trying to play at some con's, but if non d20 games won't be supported then it makes little sense to me. I'm currently DMing a long running D20 DnD campaign, but I...

Secret "v3.6" memo and product development

This is brilliant I say! The binders will allow me to only bring the parts that are relavent to the game! It will cut down on my back aches from carrying to much! It will make me use !'s way to much! :D

Yet another "I just got kicked out of my group" thread

Nah, haven't had this problem. There's been some serious changes in the last couple of years. I have a serious core of three fairly devoted gamers and I have 3-4 slots theat tend to come and go a bit. Things have been steady for the last 6 months, but it looks like a couple of folks may be...

    Player Unrest...

Darn you Pirate Cat you beat me to it! :) I have to second this his comment. I have a group of folks that are right now dealing with the consequences of their actions earlier in the campaign. (Play with the evil artifact, pay the price for unleashing the big bad.) :) Now of course if they...

    Longest campaign you've run/played in?

Hmm ... the longest finished campaign was a year and a half shadow run campaign. But we're creeping up on the two year mark for my current campaign and things are going strong still. We've got the characters hitting the 13th to 14th level mark and they're really starting to enjoy things. I...

Where in the EN World are you? [Renamed]

Does your Spouse/Significant other game with you?

Yesd she does. Mrs. 'the Black' has even gone so far as to tell me that she has become 'addicted' to the campaign I'm running. Nice to hear she's enjoying herself. She's been gaming with the group for three years now and is enjoying herself very much. Of course the fact that I've been hereing...

What adventures for a WH40K campaign?

I would whole heartedly suggest an Inquisitor campaign. Have the characters play the inqusitor's cohorts for a time to get the feel for the campaign and then elevate them to full fledged ones later and let them spread their wings. Nothing like a bunch of folks that will have to destroy a cabal...

    When did you start gaming?

1983 with the red and then the blue boxed sets. I don't think my grade school teachers ever did figure out what we were up to on recess. :D Fun times.

    whatever happened to D20/OGL Earthdawn?

They're both a seperate system. Earthdawn used a progressive chart for which dice to roll in a given situation, whereas Shadow Run used the large mass of six siders. They're both wonderful systems in their own right. The fell of earthdawn is so different from D&D, when my current D&D campaign...

    Names for Swords!

Hmm ... from my current campaign we have: Swiftwind Serpant's Tongue Darkrazor Midnight Icing Death and from past campaigns we have: Yoshi Miro's Blade Dark Flame Hope this helps! :)

30 and "ancient" if you listen to my obnoxious wife :p

How much time do you devote your campaign?

On average I spend about 2 hours a week working on things. This time varies quite a bit depending on what's going on though. I've had weeks that I spent close to 10 hours working on things as I advanced monsters, stated out new critters, and penned some NPC's. But then other weeks, such as...

DMs: Do you ask players to contribute money for materials?

Never, what I want to use I buy. As other have said though if I don't own it, you can't use it. All in all it just makes fights over what belongs to who so much easier to deal with. Besides, I like to read and read the books over and over and I can't do that if somebody else has got the thing.

    iron kingdoms?

As I said before. I've managed to port over just about everything (gobbers included) into the Realms with very little problem. Since the folks I game with are all relativley new, or aren't Realms purists I've run into very few problems. By changing some names and coming up with some...

    Magic Item Histories

As somebody that has made up histories for a number of my characters magic item I'd have to say it works out better if you make it up yoourself. Then you can wrap it into a fabric that fleshes out the history of you campaign. About 1st level my pc's found a +1 long sword. No big deal right? I...

    Your favorite D&D/d20 products?

I have to vote for the mosternomicon by privateer press. This is hands down the best monster book in my collection. In addition it provides tons of plot hooks for using the monsters in your campaign that are useful wether you campaign in the Iron Kingdoms or not. After that I'd have to say that...

    iron kingdoms?

Alright, as somebody that has DMed the witchfire series I have to say that they are hands down the most interesting and fun series of modules I've worked with in a long time. This one has it all, insane sorcess's, deranged wizards, undead armies, guns, cannons, political intrigue, evil cults...
