I think to remain true to his 1e origins, Alastor is an advanced pit fiend of maximum HD, or you can add the paragon template to him as outline in Epic Level Handbook. It would be interesting to see how one would depict other pit fiends of the nobility like Goap, Baalzephon, Zimimar, Zapan etc...
