Gm to player, been a long time, need some help

Meat Shield/Tank. Either a straight militant cleric build (CoD ZILLA!!!) or a paladin, because healing will be needed, too. The party already has plenty of nuking and striking capability. #11 might work for that, too.

    Big Bad Evil Guy...the Eidolon?

Had a thought today - a good BBEG would be an Eidolon that keeps showing up - no matter how many different (evil) summoners end up killed by the party through the campaign. Is it the aspect of a deity/devil/demon? A condemned soul with a plot beyond the grave? Or something...else?

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinderized Artificer a la Steampunk

Actually, if you reflavor the Alchemist's alchemical concoctions as infusions, that works well - no crunch adjustment required (although you don't get all those bonus crafting feats). Ultimate Magic may even have an alternative build that would fit the artificer role, but I don't have it yet as...

    Where is d20pfsrd.com?

Just remember, insanity is mearly a state of mind. Well, unless you're playing Call of Cthulu. Or living it.

    Dragonborn/Draconic Feats, and a PRC

I think the sorcerer thing is stupid, especially when there is already a draconic bloodline where you gain draconic traits. It looks like it is an excuse to get more feats, and therefore not balanced.

    D&D 3.x A Turning Point: I Sold My 3e Books

Understandable, but I'm keeping the ones I still have. Most of it is very specific splat or 3rd party books, though (Sandstorm, Frostburn, Iron Kingdom's Character Guide and Liber Mechanica, Bof9S). Eberron I sold off despite my love for the setting (mostly warforge stuff), but I sold it to a...

    Silly Logistical Question

Bag of Holding, Portable Hole (but not bag of holding inside a portable hole or vise versa - that tears holes in the universe).

    Fantasy Gun Control

I guess it is the "all or nothing" aspect of fantasy gun control that bugs me. It isn't about realism (especially in a world of flying eyeballs that shoot death rays and the like). "Guns are bad" but when the egregiously complicated repeating crossbow shows up, or a lever-action crossbow with a...

    Skypirates Campaign- Some Questions

How about narrowing it to dragon hearts, and the demand for dragon hearts has lead to a war between mere mortals and dragons?

    Warforged/Fleshie Role Reversal

You could also go Matrix or Terminator - "Kill all Humans! Oh, wait, we still need them for x"

    The Changing Face of Reading

In electronic format, a properly designed website trumps everything else. It is quicker, for instance, for me to look something up using d20pfsrd.com than to use a PDF reader on the same smart phone. I would love, however, to have versions of my RPGbooks in ebook format because of the issue of...

    Fantasy Gun Control

Well, like most things in the RPG world, there is a lot of handwaving when it comes to realism *cough.* Fine, I'll admit it. I'm an Iron Kingdoms fan. Labling it as "steampunk" doesn't quite do it justice, but having a pistol-grip wand is pretty much encouraged. The gun rules work for the...

    Party amnesia

There's always the "Dude, where's my car?" scenario, where they don't remember what happened, but have to deal with all these crazy bullcrap schenanigans, people they've ticked off, etc. Or you can just give them a Burn Notice.

    Fantasy Gun Control

Yeah, yeah, a touchy subject for some people - let's try to keep it civil. First off, I understand why guns don't feel like fantasy to a number of people. Tolken didn't have guns, therefore most modern High Fantasy doesn't have guns, and the medival folklore and literature that serves as the...

    Is Thundercats anime?

No more or less than that old Hobbit cartoon or Return of the King cartoon. Same studio did both. The character designs appear based off of the costumes for the broadway play "Cats." The designs are far more Western based than what people would consider "anime," and it doesn't follow the...

That Thing You Won't Ever Do

Part of it, although we were running pretty far off the rails on the crazy train (Running Legacy Era like it was the Clone Wars with a hidden jedi sect that was coming out of hiding - and they had a clone army). The first couple of sessions the guy kept looking for a sabac game, and I had no...

That Thing You Won't Ever Do

I will not DM a game in the Forgotten Realms. It's not so much that I have something against Forgotten Realms as it is I don't want to deal with Forgotten Realms fanboyism at the table. I found out when I DMed Star Wars how problematic it can be to have an entheusiastic fan at the table that...

    Eternally Blue: A Homebrew Setting

Sorry, typoed. APG, as in Advanced Player's Guide. It has alternative racial traits for the core races.

    Eternally Blue: A Homebrew Setting

Nope, was just curious. I was considering something similar with my own setting, but I decided it was best just to leave a recommendation for players to play a half-orc. Another quick hot-fix would be to have all PC orcs use half-orc stats, maybe with a replacement of an AGP trait.
