This is the original concept for the warlock, IIRC. The main limitation is that you can only have one spell active at a time. The rest of the design flows from that. So, half-baked at the moment but similar tubers that others had.

For 5e: Ability Scores, number of bonus feats, potency and quantity of magic items, access to Inspiration, use of feats for "multiclassing" just for other class abilities. Stats aren't that important in older editions, but near critical in 5e.
