    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

I guess they really hated people picking it as the default option. People picked it because everything after the early levels does some form of non-physical damage... Judging from this selection, they wanted to make sure it's weak against psychics (makes sense), force damage means casters (uhh...

BG3 Wildheart It has some useless traits on it (hello, lv6 bear) and some too-obvious combos, but it has a selection of things to offer. If you combined that with 'pick your features when you rage', oh man. lv3 Bear: same resistance Eagle: dash as bonus action, OAs against you have disadv...

Speaking of BG3, I do wish they'd modelled Wildheart more after it... The lv6 and lv10 options are now so boring that they kill any desire to continue in the subclass. Sure, darkvision/climb speed/swim speed/ask DM about the surrounding environment are nice, but those are ribbons, you could...

Monk and BG3 do that. Light property still requires you to take the Attack action.

Oh, the final Barbarian Bear Totem gives you resistance to every damage type except Force, Necrotic, Psychic, Radiant. An awkward way to say it resists physical and elemental attacks, but I'll take it over the previous one. Edit: oh yeah, poison isn't really an element, is it. Still, there has...

Oh yeah, readied Dash works, without even needing your allies to spend an attack to grapple the Cleric. Thanks, I thought I hated the previous Cleric meta. (y)

So... you could Spike Growth on multiple levels, as long as the (ground) surfaces were all within that sphere?

I never said you got more of them. You have a Light bonus action attack available to you with every Attack action (to spend your bonus action on).

Yes, the likely design intent is obvious. I'm saying they should put that into text form if that is the case. Otherwise, I can only work with what the text says.

Yes, and Nick means you never spent it. As we can only use Nick once per round, when we then take an extra Attack action, we rotate back to looking at just the Light property as usual, which puts no limits on how often in a round it can trigger (just per Attack action). Clearly, Light and Nick...

Semantics. If you can only do one of your 'given' bonus actions, then everyone has one bonus action available. That is very likely, but it's not what the text says. If it said 'you can still make that bonus attack only once per turn', it would be clear. When they say 'this bonus attack', that...

Yes, it could be read that way. But why would a rule that applies to the Light property not be written under the Light property? As it just says 'when you take the attack action', not 'once per turn, after having taken the attack action'.

You have one bonus action. You attack with Nick. You still have one bonus action.

Light property says 'when you take the attack action, you can make one extra attack as a bonus action later in the turn'. Nick property says 'when you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the attack action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn'...

Just a reminder, that if you have some way of getting two fighting styles, Dueling + TWF styles work together now. Just carry a shield and juggle weapons with the other hand. Just like Drizzt!

Guess we'll find out, if they ever make an official 2024 ruling on how Paladin save aura interacts with death saves.

I'm not so sure they're right on that. Saving throws are d20 tests, and death saving throws are saving throws.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Spell Changes

I'd totally missed the earlier comment about how they buffed Spirit Guardians. So, enemies need to make a Wisdom save or take the damage 'whenever the Emanation enters a creature's space, but only once per turn'. So the Cleric should be running around the battlemap to tag every enemy once, then...
