Who or what is the Tom Bombadil of your game?

That'd be a great part of a replacement conspiracy. Get invited to court to perform. Ask for a volunteer. Vanish them to your tower, bring back your doppelganger partner.

    New Battlestar Galactica

there's another streaming service? Crap. Sam Esmail does good work. And it's not a reboot. Tired of those and I liked the new BSG way better than the old one.

    Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

How do you pick yourself up after a fall? Somebody has to remind us what it is to stand for something. That's season 3 of Discovery. Seems like a timely subject to me.

Who or what is the Tom Bombadil of your game?

I don't think Peter Jackson even filmed a Tom Bombadil scene. Smart man. He wasn't load bearing. He got cut.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

Ah crap! Now the dolphins are gonna get Covid. What is wrong with people? Stay home. Stay away from dolphins. Wear your scuba mask.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

At this point, we do the social bubble thing. Identify a few like-minded friends who generally keep decent isolation and mask wearing and visit each other. Not 100% safe, but lower risk than what the people whining about mask wearing and ignoring the advisories are doing. Helps keep people...

    D&D and the rising pandemic

It's weird the things that can and cannot be kept secret. Just read about Wilmington's Lie. in 1898, a town had a racist coup, and for the longer part, they and revisionist history won. But on the flip side, there's not likely an organized effort to release a virus and make lots of people die...

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

Yup. I try to realize if I'm re-replying with basically the same thing I already said. Once the conversation has looped, it's time to stop, they haven't gotten my point and likely won't. or if I wrote a long reply. Good sign that I wasted my time, and I delete it without posting which is a...

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

I sometimes wonder if we are better served by not talking to each other. Which is of course, ridiculous. But then, there'd be fewer arguments, if nobody spoke to begin with.

    Hamilton on Disney +

Lin's voice struggles to cut through the mix at times, making it harder to hear what he's saying. I liked the show. The music, lyrics, plot, presentation were genius. My hearing problems + Lin at times made it a challenge. I'll have to watch it again and hope osmosis and repetition fill in...

    D&D and the rising pandemic

Why? Because entities internal and external to the United States benefit from chaos, infection, fear and divisiveness. It's not hard to be further divided once you see a % of the populist is bigoted nutjobs. Kinda hard to ignore that. Meanwhile, cutting off the US. What do you hope to...

Easy with the "You" finger. Politics. Suffice it to say we live in a state where we disagree with what people are doing.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

There was this video game, pandemic or something. About making a virus and mutating it to try to wipe out all the humans on the planet. What Umbran says here is exactly spot on with the winning strategy. A virus that is too lethal, too early burns itself out before it can spread. You want...

    Best Superhero

I went with Spiderman. Most of the other people on the list are privileged and can make being a superhero a lifestyle choice. Spiderman got bit, and had to decide every day that he should stop that robbery instead of what he wanted to be doing.
