The Book of Boba Fett (spoilers)

yeah, the whole thing was humdrum in a way the training montage on Degobah wasn't. At times, Filoni has a good feel for the SW universe, and other times, he doesn't have a good feel for storytelling/pacing. A proper argument between Luke and Din might have been interesting. Sadly, Kobra Kai S4...

The Book of Boba Fett (spoilers)

Meanwhile, in Episode 2 of The Mandolorian season 3... they never should have given over entire episodes to non-Boba-and-his-plotline characters. A day in the life of the Gamorians? Sure. Mando? No. He literally has his own show. The latest ep end in Luke making the Lucas-Mistake with Grogu...

The Book of Boba Fett (spoilers)

More evidence to the problem: the slo-poke car chase with the power strangers in pursuit... giving away 2 episodes to The Mandolorian The Boba Showba should have Fett actually struggling with his past as a bad guy bounty hunter, working with limited resources (Mr. I have plenty of credits)...

Have you ever bought a product that just wasn't... right?

that is weird. I've had some stuff arrive that was flimsier than expected, but nothing I can recall being just as good as the real thing but uselessly wrong.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

hadn't heard cloth masks weren't as good for omacron, but that's all I got. I figure it's still a better sneeze guard than nothing. (as always masks were better for ougoing than incoming). We've dodged covid thus far, but it's hit people in our bubble (that we haven't seen for weeks+ before...

The Book of Boba Fett (spoilers)

based on Luke and Anakin hand-choppings, I don't get the feeling that SW people are too attached to the body parts. Kinda like dogs. They lose a limb or eyes, and after the initial pain, they get on with life. Wheras humans need emotional therapy. One might take the SW way as dismissive, but...

Joss Whedon Allegations: The Undoing of the "Buffy" Creator

it sure is. But ultimately, while I agreed with the rest of your posts. I disagreed with your implying that people who were concerned about royalties for others were therefore actively supporting Whedon. Your concern is not the only concern. Your way is not the only way.

Joss Whedon Allegations: The Undoing of the "Buffy" Creator

good point. probably bad example. But somebody gets paid residuals on DVD sales besides Whedon. My point is, not everybody approves of drone strikes because of the collateral damage. Crapping on people for being concerned about that isn't a good look.

Joss Whedon Allegations: The Undoing of the "Buffy" Creator

I don't disagree with holding creators accountable. But in my mind, holding people accountable means a black bag, van ride, and an isolated location. Extreme if taken literally, but a direct action aimed directly at the perpetrator. Boycotts are drone strikes as hitmen with rifles are to...

Joss Whedon Allegations: The Undoing of the "Buffy" Creator

I didn't know of anything until this thread and your post. On googling, I get the impression that of the 3 I mentioned he reformed early and earnestly.

Joss Whedon Allegations: The Undoing of the "Buffy" Creator

true, but I feel like I must treat people with some modicum of respect and assumption of innocence. Which also means that if I miss the news report where they killed folks, I'm clueless. And just to comment on this fragment below, which I cannot get my cursor to go beneath... While I agree...

Joss Whedon Allegations: The Undoing of the "Buffy" Creator

I've seen Bowie, Asimov and Eddings mentioned. Is there a repository of People-Who-Turned-Out-To-Not-Be-Good somewhere? As somebody hadn't heard about Bradley (I knew!), clearly it's hard to keep up.

    Eternals (Spoilers)

perhaps a counter to that is Guardians of the Galaxy. Which made a bunch of Marvel Nobodies work well. A key difference is the smaller cast. How many eternals were there? Probably another thing that bugs me with Marvel is how many completely different secret species they keep tucking away on...

    Eternals (Spoilers)

that and they had 400 years to contemplate. What kind of shallow person doesn't reconsider their philosophies given 400 years of downtime? Phaistos did. Heck, why isn't he in charge?

    Eternals (Spoilers)

yes, but they also had since the 1600s of not fighting and coming to other conclusions. Nobody'd been in command for that long. it can go either way, but I found "he's the strongest" as the crappiest argument and sign of defective thinking for choosing a leader. period.

    Eternals (Spoilers)

I was gonna say this felt like a Galactus thing, especially when Arishem showed up at the end.... Overall, the move was OK. I liked the diverse cast. I wish Kingo hadn't not just quit and left, but came back (somebody said he returned, I didn't see it). I liked him the best, so this heel turn...

    Eternals (Spoilers)

You're right, but. It turns out not all stories have to have that. (somebody elsewhen asked and I looked it up). Captain Kirk of nuTrek being used as an example. He thought he was right and it turns out he was right. Everybody else had to change, to accept his rightness. Just an example...
