Question: my DM is getting angry. I have the polearm mastery. When a creature reaches the 10 feet in front of me. I use my AoO. When it comes in my reach I use my attack and second attack from the other end of the Boolean and then second wind using those two attacks doing a bunch of damage...

So how far ahead and wide should a ranger when scouting? And what should our order of march be? Ranger, two fighters (one polearm fighter), 2 thieves, a sorcerer, and a cleric?

No. He was just seen. DM must be screwing the ranger. At 3rd level the ranger should pretty much be "invisible" if I'm right. Is that right?

He's been caught by regular brigands, an ogre, etc. He's tracking ahead of the group so we don't get spotted but we always are

It's goofy because the two rogues have never failed a sneak attack or a stealth check. Shouldn't it be relatively the same for a ranger?

My son is playing a ranger and keeps getting "caught" or seen when out ranging in the wild. I am not sure our DM is taking into account what the ranger is capable of. He is 3rd level. What route should he take? He should not be getting caught each time he goes out...

I see in posts a lot of people take heavy armor feat. why is that? and I took defensive fighting style for the AC bonus. Why are you suggesting wisdom?
