    Cloud of Knives kills minions?

edit: that was unnecessarily snarky on my part.

    Cloud of Knives kills minions?

Ah. I missed that. To be honest, I'm still not seeing it. But I'll happily take your word for it. I am, right now, likely to miss things like that.

    Cloud of Knives kills minions?

(emphasis mine) Nope. Try again. That's not how the minion rule reads.

    Cloud of Knives kills minions?

Does it really? It's a spell that affects a single square. The wizard uses a turn to autokill a single minion. That doesn't seem particularly overpowered, given that the wizard could cast a different spell and probably end up killing a lot more minions.

    Healer's Lore and Regen effects

Cleric powers only. Healing keyword required. It's not a separate effect; it's a bonus to the power. And you have to be granting healing for it to work. Whatever that phrase means. As a bonus to a power, I would assume that the power would actually have to heal in the first place (in...

    Healer's Lore and Regen effects

option 3: Melora's Tide gives regen 2 and also heals 5 damage up front. (I'm not saying that's the correct option, mind you. But it is another possibility to consider.)

    Paladin's Challenge Question

Probably not. You don't use your holy avenger to attack when you place a divine challenge on someone. Not only does divine challenge use neither implement nor weapon, but the holy avenger radiant damage bonus is worded, "a holy avenger deals an extra 1d10 radiant damage when the power you use...

    Vorpal Uber Weapons?!?

Odd as it might sound to you, I disagree here. RAW nearly always contains typos or examples based on the way rules worked several revisions ago or sloppy language or things that are just plain poorly explained. We can't always know RAI, but... well, by definition, the game is intended to be...

    Magic Weapons and Keyword Inheritance

For added kicks, look at the symbol of radiance (page 237). It does radiant damage without having the radiant keyword, but does happen to have the healing keyword. Lightning serpent (page 163) is another weird one. It has the lightning and poison keywords, and the spell does lightning damage...

    Vorpal Uber Weapons?!?

    I can't find any fault in your average damage formula, but am curious how 1d4 averages 10 damage when (with d=4): A = [4^2 + 4]/[2*4-2] A = [16+4]/[8-2] A = [20]/[6] = 20/6, which is a little over 3.33 Am I totally misunderstanding something here?

    Vorpal Uber Weapons?!?

The funny thing about this (to me, at least) is that I'm coming to 4th edition from Savage Worlds, a game where every damage die is effectively vorpal. It's easy to focus on the potentially infinite damage and forget that most rolls aren't actually going to be all that much bigger than normal.

    Magic Weapons and Keyword Inheritance

Even if you did get it twice, the feat bonus wouldn't stack with itself.

Shifting while crawling: 2 views (Shadownhaunt spoilers!)

I've yet to find any rule limiting your actions while prone, so you could probably get a good running start and jump over a pit, all while prone. That said, I doubt any DM would let that work in game. Myself, I'm inclined to disallow shifting while prone (or, in fact, any move action aside...

If an area spell, like force orb, targets "enemies"...

The bag of rats was brought up in a mostly thread-relevant way, and so I think it my post that first derailed things. Sorry about that.

If an area spell, like force orb, targets "enemies"...

Oh, I know the method. I just don't know its origin.

If an area spell, like force orb, targets "enemies"...

I must learn the origin of that phrase. edit: Gah! Impossible! I fail. It's all "there is this well known trick" and "from the internet" and "from some forum" and "in 3.0 you can do blah blah", but I've yet to see anyone credit anyone else with actually coming up with that idea.

    Price of Plate Armor

Gold rush prices. 2 gp might be outrageous from a normal point of view, but when an adventurer comes into town and needs supplies quickly, you tack an extra zero (at least!) onto the price. It's not like they'll notice. These are the guys that pay an outrageous 2 silver for a pitcher of ale...

    Price of Plate Armor

Please do. Although I encourage you to correct my neigh/nigh typo prior to using it as a sales pitch. People will get funny ideas, otherwise.

    I'm now confuzzled.

It'll be lucky to beat OD&D at that, which was basically one gigantic houserule composed of tiny, little houserules.

    Price of Plate Armor

More seriously... That's half your starting wealth. The armor is valued at five whole cows. It's not a trivial purchase for armor which isn't even all that good. It's no warplate, that's for sure. And it doesn't enshroud the wearer in holy flames, let them soar on gigantic batlike wings, or...
